I had these as well. You should go to the Dr. I went to a dermotologist.

In my case is is a combination of being over weight (thighs rubbing), combined with sweat, and he said dirt (not dirt as in I don't bath, but rather a general term... like contaminets or something). They tested the samples and it was not anything extreme but he advised that popping it causes scaring. He said to just weight it out through the pain and to see him if they are extremely painful as that is a sign of infection. His advise was to lose weight and care for the areas with antibacterial purfume free soap when they appear. He also prescribed me an anti-bachterial creame as a precaution.

He said its the bodys way of getting rid of contaminents and if this didnt happen it would be worse so its a sign your body is working correctly and unfortunately everyones bodys is different when it comes to sweating, skin, etc... Like someone else said when I was in good shape I never had these.

You should check it out though still as he said if it is infected thats not good. You shouldnt put a price on your health.

OMG! :'( I have gone through this since I was 16. Yes they do start off as little pimples and then progress into boils. It stinks like rotten something....but not all the time. I catch them in my armpits, my stomach, my thighs, my bottom and in that area....i have gone to the doctor and they have told me that it is over active foliciles. Ugh...my legs are ugly. I can't even wear shorts bc it's always a "boil" there...no tank tops because ppl will see something bulging out of my armpit...ugh...Somebody help us all. :'(

Hello,

I have this same problem...I am now 25 and I have had them since I was probably 19 or younger...I get them on the inside of my thighs ...they start out small then get bigger...They hurt constantly...sitting and walking become difficult...wearing clothes that are tight hurt too...sometime I even get them in my bikini area and wearing underwear kills me...I haven't seen a doctor about it but my mom has the same problem too and when she saw her doctor she told her that its seasonal especially during the time when your blood is changing or something like that...but it does not have anything to do with ingrown hair or not changing your razor...those are completely different bumps and infections.

I can't pop mine because it hurts to touch around them...but the ones I have popped that were smaller did bleed but they grew either way...also they do leave nasty purple scars the size of the bump...it also looks like holes..its gross...

If anyone knows how to get rid of them keep us updated. Oh also I am not overweight and no matter what weight I was I always got them...I currently weigh 108 lbs.

It sounds like you all have what I have. I was told by my primary doctor that it was infected hair follicles. I was told by 2 different OB/GYN's that it was in fact something to do with my horomones. I can't remember exactly what the diagnosis was called but they gave me tetracycline and it helps. I've been getting them for about 10 years now and they usually come out right before my period starts which leads me to believe that the OB/GYN's were right about it being hormonal.
These bumps are very painful and have left scars on my legs. If they are really bad I will soak in the tub in the hottest water I can stand which sometimes will make them pop. I hope this helps :-D

I have had these since I was 12 years old and I am already 20 I went to the dr. after 4 years becauseI was ashamed to say anything but my aunt finally saw them and believed it was staph infection... the dr. told me they were cysts and he refered me to a general surgeon i have surgically removed these three time and they just came back in different areas my dr. told me it happens more in women and she said when you feel one coming on to automatically clean it with alcohol i clean my self3x's a day and they stay small they come with heat and I try not to sweat cold showers always make me feel better it is a disease that starts with a "D" i dont remember the name.. i hope it helps

Not to scare you, Buy my niece started to have this problem when she was about 6. Shes now almost 11. She still has this problem, but hers came along with a lot of pain in her stomach, (drs. thought it was apendicitis) so they took her apendix out. The pain kept on the bumps kept popping up all over her stomach and now she goes to a speacialist and basically they are trying to decide whether its related to chromes disease or lymphnode cancer. If I were you I would go to my Dr and demand him to run as many test as possible. I hope this helps and God bless.

I am 14 years old and I too have this problem. I am worried but I think it is because my thighs tend to rub together. It is so embarrassing because I feel like I am ugly and that no one would marry me. This just adds on to the hormones. Does anyone have advice?

I was getting them on my inner thighs and under my arm pits/ bra line... Typically around " that time of the month". I've been told its a variation of different things by many different docs. At one point one told me it was cysts and would never go away, even though they always do with meds. Antibiotics always helped get rid of them. But after researching I heard that it could be because your immune system and it isn't as effective around the time of my period.. OR sometimes after a weekend of hard partying/ drinking. I also found that I may have had low zinc levels. So I make sure I take vitamins each day. Usually a multi vitamin, an extra dose of zinc, an extra dose of vitamin A and of biotin... This has helped alot! I still get them on occasion but Its usually after a weekend of hard drinking mixed with its my time of the month. If I do get one the zinc really seems to help boost my immune system and get rid of it quick.

I've had them too for a long time. My gynocologist called it Hidraderitis Suppurativa. It's often undiagnosed because it is embarrising, I happen to have my yearly when I had an outbreak. The only recommendation she made was to wash with Lever 2000 liquid body wash original formula and to change my bath puff weekly. Since it would get kinda expensive to constantly be replacing the puff I microwave it for about a minute. She also told me to call when I get one so I can be treated with an antibiotic. So far it's been working, I've also lost a bit if weight, which I read in some comments has helped other people. I actually haven't had one for 9 months, but the last one left a massive scar and an indentation. If you get these talk to your doc! It helped me!!!
