This is typically MRSA staph (that is what my doc said). I have been getting these ever since I gained weight. I was told this develops from thighs rubbing together and that loosing weight would help. At this point I would have to loose a lot of weight to help. I have tried 4 different rounds of antibiotics and have not been able to get rid of them at all. I think the only solution is to loose enough weight that your thighs don't rub.

I came across this topic tonight after I had just shaved my bikini area last night with the venus and olay razor (never had used before) and this afternoon after work I felt this slight pain and I looked and there looked to be a large bump on my inner thigh near to my bikini line. I squeezed it using clean hands and a little tissue wrapped around each finger, and a little puss came out, so I squeezed a little more to try and get it out and some more shot out...then just a little blood. Underneath the bump (about the size of a dime) was a little hard so I tried to squeeze a little more but it got too painful.
This bump seemed to just develop overnight and right after shaving with a new razor with moisturizing bars. I just think maybe it's from that?

Basically it happens from being over weight. hair folicles on the inner thighs cannot procuce hair correctly because of friction and constant irritation,it causes the areas to become infected and very tender / painful to the touch, in turn the only way to relieve the tension and pain is to drain them wich sometimes heals the affected area and sometime exasserbates it.. i had them myself in my younger years and the only way to get rid of these is to lose the weight, even after dropping 15lbs i noticed a significant difference in the rate at wich they occured and there severity. If you are not overweight and have this problem it could be a reaction to your clothing either chaffing or smothering the skin in the area for a proonged period can cause it.

I have this same problem. My memory is bad so I'm not sure when I actually started getting them. I would guess around 14. I get boils anywhere from from a little smaller than a pea to the biggest one was about the size of a half dollar years ago. I mainly get them on the insides of my thighs, but in the last few years they moved to my lower stomach, behind my knees (once in blue moon), sometimes my waist area, my butt and under my boobs. My doctor could never tell me why I got them. She once told me next time I have a big painful one to call in and she would send the blood/puss the comes out of it to the lab, but shortly after I lost my insurance. Before she wanted to do this she told me a few things to try... wear only 100% cotton underwear and try changing them 2 to 3 times a day. Changing them didn't help much but the cotton did a little. Take at least 2 showers a day to make sure you wash all the dirt off your body. Also try using like dail HAND soap. Body washes won't help much.
A friend of mine I no longer speak to used to get them too. Her doctor said it's from rubbing. If you are overweight it could be skin rubbing skin, or your jeans rubbing you skin and irritating the area. Her doctor also told her that when she gets one to keep it covered by like a band aid. That way when it pops all that stuff that comes out wont get on other parts of your body b/c it could spread.
Try some or all of these things. What didn't work for me may work for you. You never know until you try. I plan on working out and losing a bunch of my weight to see if that helps me.

I get them on my waistline. It's like a red bump that won't come to a head or pop. It just leaves a dark scar. Anyone find out what it is?

It could be chafing because of the undies and pants combined. Kind of like pinching?

I have the same problem and I share your pain, I am blessed that I am married and have the support . It is called HIDRADENITIS SUPPURATIVE (google it). Hibiclens- Antiseptic/Antimicrobial skin cleanser (this is amazing)! Advanced Anitbacterial flexible fabric- Chloride 0.1% Bandages. And good ol Benzoyl peroxide gel 10% (As prevention). At the end of the day go see a dermatologist just to make sure thats what you have. I hope my home remedy helps you.
