I've been having weird things going on with my eyes. I keep getting blind spots and spots where it looks like a snowy tv. It's not in my direct line of vision, more in my peripherals. It lasts for about an hour- 2 hours. This is the 5th time it happened. It happened about 2 months ago, a couple weeks ago, yesterday twice, and right now. If I look directly at an object like someone's left eye for example, I can't see the right eye. It just kind of disappears. Right now it's the worst it's ever been. Yesterday it was worse in my right eye, today it is 90% in my left eye.
To help you understand more what it's like, it feels like I stared directly into a bright light for a couple minutes and had those blind spots and fuzzy spots (but I never looked into a bright light). However, it does not go away within a couple minutes like looking in a bright light does. I have no other symptoms.
Does anyone know what this could be or have any advice?
Hello,
I highly suggest that you get to a neurologist and have a scan done. What you have could become very serious with time. Symptoms of this type are often thought of as visual auras or migraines. In other words, these symptoms may be warning signs of impending migraines or seizures. Symptoms of blind spots, 'snowy tv' or flickering lights or stars are often followed by headache, nausea and dizziness down the road. There is always a possiblity that you may be having epileptic brain activity. Symptoms of this type should not be ignored. At the very least, see if you can see a general practitioner and see if you can get a referral.
I get these too, its extremely discomfiting as I know it will eventually go away and the doctors will not see anything and tell me it´s stress (or something else that equally means "I don´t know and I don´t really much care").
