I had abdominal pain, severe gas, heartburn, and dizziness for two weeks. For the first week, it was sporadic; one day I would be fine, then I would wake up feeling like a brick of pain was in my stomach. I would be so dizzy that I would sit for hours as still as possible. The second week, it was pretty much constant, to the point where I missed the entire week of work. The doctor wanted me to take a gall bladder ultrasound; I didn't do this because it would have cost me $515. However, she did also give me some medication: Nexium and Meclizine. I don't know whether it was the medication or whether it just ran its course, but after 2 weeks, I am now symptom-free and back to normal. My personal opinion is that it was some kind of bug.

I have the deepest sympathy for all of you for I have been experiencing similiar symtoms for two years now. I throw up all day long, with every meal I eat.

I have the abdominal pain ,headaches, intestinal bloating, constant nausea, and stay exhausted!!! I too

have had all kinds of tests and blood work only to find that my counts are low and sometimes a vitamin deficiency.

Five weeks ago I had my gall bladder removed!! DIDNT HELP! Since then, I've been in ER twice for fluids!! My life has soooooo passed difficult!

Hard to cope! I do have a family and a job, and I can barely manage to keep myself alive! As of three days ago, a young doctor prescribed me zofran and reglan!

Both of these together are atleast helping me keep my head out of the toilet! I'm headed to a team of specialist tomorrow!!!

And with some hope, I have to believe that there are answers as to why so many of us are having thesr horrid symtoms!

When I return home with news, I will gladly share!

Hello Everyone.
I have read hundreds of posts regarding boating, gas, constipation, nausea, back pain, fatigue, extended belly, etc. The list is very long and the people suffering all have several things in common. Some mention having their gall bladders removed, some mention certain foods that trigger these symptoms (fatty food, dairy, soy etc.)...

I AM NOT A DOCTOR but I too suffer from these symptoms and have for over 11 yrs now. Not a single doctor in all those years have come up with any explanations for these symptoms and as usual send me home with the new "drug of the month". I have come to the conclusion that ...

A. Having your gallbladder removed is pointless and usually causes more problems.
B. Doctors don't give a c**p
C. Pharmaceutical companies thrive on our misery
D. Most diseases start in the colon so stop eating JUNK!
E. Their coming to take me away ha ha hee hee...
F. I forgot what F was for?
G. I am done rambling

So, here are some helpful hints... Start eating more healthy. Stop eating fatty fried foods. Eat more fiber. Get more exercise. Most people with these symptoms are also over weight, smokers, junk food junkies with high stress jobs or home life. Do you see a pattern yet people. I know it's crazy to think we can fix our selves and get healthy without paying some ego-maniac a lot of money...but it's true! HELP YOURSELF!

Hello all! I am so glad I found this site and I hope that my comment can be of help to someone looking for answers.
I to have been having these symptoms nausea, bloating especially in the abdomen area almost like im pregnant
(protruding belly), vomiting, stomach pain, extreme fatigue and many other
strange symptoms including craving protein (which I am unsure if this is related or not to my other symptoms). So
I made an appointment with my Dr. and she ran a ton of blood test ANA panel, CBC panel, metabolism panel, prolactin,
insulin, thyroid, and cortisol tests. All came back fairly normal. I also had a CT Scan and an ultrasound.

I just got the call yesturday (week after my tests) and they informed me that I have gallstones. I assume I have had
them for years, because I have been having these symptoms for years. (Now that I think about it the first time I noticed
any stomach pains like this I was taking xenadrine diet pills when it had ephedra in it but don't quote me on anything its
just a thought, because I heard yoyo diets are one of the causes for gallstones.) So anyway, I meet with a surgeon on
Thursday and my Dr. said most likely they will opt to take out my gallbladder.

I really hope this helps someone, I have been searching for answers for some of these symptoms for years, and I know
how frustrating it gets when you know something is wrong with your body and you keep getting negative this and normal
that! Keep searching and keep pressing your Dr.'s to do something about your health because chances are if you are not
serious and are not willing to search for answers chances are your doctor wont either!

Good Luck Friend!

I have had many of the same problems.
Stomach/intestinal SWELLING
gas
severe pain leading to vomiting just to feel better
nothing helped.

My family sent thousands of dollars, even on insurance trying to figure out what was wrong. The doctors couldn't find anything and it was pretty frustrating.

In the end, they never found it. But I have made my own determinations through 10 years of trial and errors.

I'm convinced, especially if Autism is a factor, that as the naturalism of our food drops we are less and less able to process it. The major problem is the digestive tract is unable to filter, or produce and store the enzymes needed for digestion. It can be caused by abdominal injuries, auto-immune system killing off helpful bacteria, or other issues.

When the food is not fully digested by enzymes it passes through and creates major sensitivity and swelling. The digestive system response by creating more digestive juices, which still lacking the enzyme, is just straight acid and burn as well as causing SEVERE painful heart burn. The more this occurs, the more damage is done and the worse it gets.

My solution, which has helped me and 2 friends with similar problems.
1. Cut back on spicy foods and anything that bothers your stomach. No pizza, apples, pears, or other hard to digest foods.
2. ABSOLUTELY no fried foods. the grease absorbs the enzymes and lower your ability to digest as well as triggers high acid production
3. Over the counter solutions work well to stop and reverse this problem:
Omnigest enzyme. all the enzymes you need in a pill has STOPPED within 2 hours all attacks. Taking half a pill every 2 days for a year prevents attacks and gave my stomach time to heal.
They now have the special yogurt, and even over the counter pills containing live, healthy digestive bacteria to replace what is lost.
4. Lots of oat meal and other fiber rich foods help push the irritants out of the digestive system and reduce sensitivity.

I have lived for 5 years on this diet and 'attacks' have waned and occur only twice a year while under stress now. More Omnigest (I only take it as I need now) stops those quickly. Because Omnigest even has lactaid it can be taken with milk to help coat and soothe the stomach.
In the last year I have been able to return to even pizza without distress as long as I take an omnigest with any hard or spiced foods (even sesame/basil chicken breast needs to be considered spiced)
My friends have had the same success I have had

Unfortunately, many local stores have stopped providing Omnigest and I can only get it from a few online pharmacies. I am testing the effectivness of the live digestive bacteria pills to replace it but it is too soon to tell.

This is all so crazy to me. I am a 27 yr old female. About 3 months ago I started vomiting uncontrolably. I was so tired all the time and got really depressed. I went to 2 doctors and the best reaponse I got was "a bad case of the rhino virus". That pissed me off. A bad case of the common cold?? No way! Now for the past 3 months I have just plain felt unhealthy. The initial vomiting lasted over 2 weeks. Now it comes in dribs and drabs. But I am always tired, get bad headaches and body aches. I know something is wrong with me. My last doctor visit was 2 days ago. They ordered lung xrays sayin I am wheezing and may have asthma. Hello!! That can not account for all that is wrong with me. I feel like these doctors just wanna get me outta their office. This is bad being that I have never been a person to even go to the doctor unless a bone was sticking out of me. I don't know what to do. I can't just walk in to a docotrs office and say "I know something is wrong with me so give me a bunch of tests. Does anyone have any input for me? I am just getting so upset. I feel like I can't do anything and I'm just sick all the time. I feel like I'm being a bad Mom cause I'm not as active and increasingly irritable.

well my symptoms are pretty much the same, burping, bloated, nausea, rare vomiting, and fatigue
i read some other possible symptoms that i would not have even thought were related!
lower back pain
arthrits in hands (at one point that lasted about a month and then mysteryously went away)
i did have food poisening a couple years ago

well i had been feeling sick for about 2 weeks with nausea. everyone questioned if i was pg. NOT POSSIBLE since i am not in a relationship at the moment.
it went away, and i went along with myself and no problems......my family eats menudo most sundays and so
i eat menudo and BAM i get sick as a dog that lasts about a week. i thought something in that peticular bowl made me sick, since no one else got sick and i have always eaten menudo, it's one of my favorite foods!
i feel fine for a week, then i eat menudo again, and BAM! i'm sick AGAIN! i decide that it's just me, because no1 eslse is getting sick, and it never made me sick before.....i eat some again, (testing my theory) i get sick again and decide i cant eat menudo anymore. a couple weeks later my children eat some and i have like ONE spoonfull and BAM, i'm sick again! didnt last as long, but i still got sick. now menudo is definatly out. well i had been fine.....i had some smelly gas but that passes, this past friday me and the kids had chinese......BAD IDEA! now i've been sick since, and almost went to the ER i feel so bad. yesterday i vomited, even though i had not eaten anything, this morning i woke up with a huge headache that i still have and lower back pain. i'm still burping as i type. i have not drunk any coke or anything bubbly with caffine for the past few days and have only had soup and water today. i try to eat pretty healthy, and i am not overweight. i dont usually eat like a pig either. i want to treat myself but the ant acid tablets arent working anymore. i just want to feel better! if i dont feel better tomorrow i will go to the dr. i have been having these symptoms off and on for about a year. i couldnt imagine living the rest of my life this way. and i had to leave my 2 year old with my parents because she likes to jump on me and play around, i missed the weekend of work because of this also. if i can never eat menudo or chinese or anything greasy ever again ir would be worth it to feel "normal" and be able to work and take care of my baby!

Oh my gosh! I have all of these same symptoms. I was put on Erythromycin (*its a Penicillin substitute, I'm allergic to Amoxicillian) and it destroyed my stomach. I was told I had gastritis / gastroenteritis. But its been over a month now. I am starting to think that is celiac disease. Its a phenomenon that has been occurring more and more. The following is from the Mayo Clinic: "Celiac disease is a digestive condition triggered by consumption of the protein gluten, which is found in bread, pasta, cookies, pizza crust and many other foods containing wheat, barley or rye. If you have celiac disease and eat foods containing gluten, an immune reaction occurs in your small intestine, causing damage to the surface of your small intestine and an inability to absorb certain nutrients.

Eventually, the decreased absorption of nutrients (malabsorption) that occurs with celiac disease can cause vitamin deficiencies that deprive your brain, peripheral nervous system, bones, liver and other organs of vital nourishment. This can lead to other illnesses and stunted growth in children.

No treatment can cure celiac disease. However, you can effectively manage celiac disease through changing your diet. " -

I have no idea if this is it or if its just all the c**p that is in our food, but I have had enough of all of the disturbing symptoms. I am going to try a healthier and maybe Gluten free diet. I wish your girlfriend and everyone on this thread health and a better tomorrow
Please email me if you find any answers from your doctors: and I will do the same. Thanks!

I was exactly the same - plus i had greasy yellow stools, and constant diarrhoea. By the time the symptoms got this bad (it had been going, on and off for years) it was easy to diagnose - and a blood test later i was diagnosed with celiac disease. I have now followed a gluten-free diet for a year or so - and the difference is amazing - I no longer bloat, and can enjoy my meals, instead of wondering when the pain will start!
Get tested - and although the diet is not easy, the increasing amount of people who are diagnosed year by year means that food options are getting easier - there's even a gluten-free section now in most supermarkets.
Work a simple blood test?

I have been suffering from stomach cramping, nausea, occasional vomiting, fatigue, dizziness especially when I lay on my right side but my bowel movements are normal. I am not pregnant. I started having slight symptoms 10 years ago was completely checked out about 5 years ago, even had a colonoscopy, and was told I was fine. The past few months after eating a crab dinner symptoms have worsened including more frequent vomiting. I have no medical insurance and am having a hard time finding a diagnosis online. I also get shaky and dizzy if I don't eat about every 2 hours. Any one have these symptoms too? Any guess as to what is wrong with me-----dox always gave me the run around anyway.

This is very interesting that we all have the same thing. Everybody here is a girl, right? I'm only 13 though. Exact same symptoms. I have never had food poisoning, or anything like that though. The fatigue, and heart burn I've had for quite a few years now, but I have always associated it with stress (I have anxiety problems). Now, over the course of 3 months it has gotten to a point where I have chronic stomach pain, and I randomly vomit, sometimes I'll be a couple bites into my meal when I'm really hungry, and I just lose my appatite and feel sick. Now I don't want to eat at all, and I am losing weight. I have been to the doctor and am told that it's "probably stress" because of my history, but I'm not even stressed right now, and when I get abdominal pain associated with stress it's in a different spot, and not nearly as sharp!! I also feel very faint. So icky. I hate this, and just want a diagnosis to at least know what this is. So much pain :-(

I have been nauseous for about 3 weeks. Can't eat or if I do can't eat much. Have bloting, and gas, my stomach sounds like a construction site. Also can't empty my bladder or move my bowls completely. The doctors just keep giving me nausea medication but it does not get rid of the problem it just seems to mask it. Does anyone have a suggestion or gone through this and know a remedy?

Thanks Sandy :(

If you are a woman, find a FEMALE GASTROENTEROLOGIST. It sounds amazingly like the symptoms I had several years ago. I went through a string of doctors, and was told there was nothing wrong with me. It turned out that I had classic FEMALE diverticular symptoms. I had severe diverticulitis, with a perforated abscess in my colon. Had I gone undiagnosed much longer (it took six months to find the right doctor), I likely would not have survived.

Women present differently than men in a lot of illnesses, but the classic write-ups always focus on the male symptoms. Find a female doctor, hand her this thread, and hope she's smart enough to recognize your situation.
