I drink quite a bit, so needless to say I puke a lot. This was the first time this occurred, and I've had a few punctured blood vessel type things on my arm for years, and my doctor said it was pretty much permanent. So when I saw them on my face I became quite worried, but this forum has put these worries to rest. Thanks guys.

I suffer from a eating disorder and I vomit a lot due to it but I been doing it for years and now for past couple months now I'm noticing that when I throw up that my chest starts to get hot and then up to my face and I look down and my chest is really red and then my neck is splotchy then it's all over my face but it's not like bumps it's flat like my skin then about 30 min it's gone from my face and then fading on my chest and neck. Sometimes seems a tad itchy. Is mine the same as everyone else is saying? It's really scary can someone help me?

Hi, i started getting red/purple patches on my face after vomiting since about 2 years ago. In the beginning they were smaller, only around the mouth and go away in 1 to 3 days but now they appear bigger and on more places on my face (between eye brows, around the eyes and chin) and don´t go away in weeks! So once you start getting this and mistreat your body with alcohol and overeating and vomit on regular bases (once a week or once in 2-3 weeks) it will only get worse. That´s my case and now i have them all the time because i don´t give the body a chance to heal. In the last few times after vomiting the skin becomes dry, tired and starts peeling. Everybody thinks i have hormonal problem. I look horrible and feel bad because before my skin was really fresh and beautiful even dough i smoke and drink and i am 36. I think i need a general change in my way of life and i want to worn everybody who started to get that in the last 1-2 years to try stop vomiting because it can only get worse! I put rosehip oil on them one night due to its skin recovery effects but then in the morning the patches were puffy like a mosquito bite. Thank you guys, i read all your posts and i will try some of your suggestions taking Vitamin C, iron and liquids. If anyone can help more i will be very grateful!

Wash your face with warm water and massage your face as you wash it then apply Aveno Oatmeal Cream also massing it. I saw a difference the 1st time I did it this, I plan on doing it every couple hours until the red freckles go away.

I have had this happen 3 times now. I threw up voilently and there were dime-sized red splotches on my cheeks. They eventually healed but, I can still see the scars. They now look like age spots. I am worried that it may have something to do with my liver. I am in great shape. I surf everyday. I feel better after reading everyones posts but, I'm still concerned.

i have this now and i had to go to the dollar tree to get make up and wear it. I was not wanting a lot of people see me with this blotchy face and neck. After a few days of having it, it is making my neck itch really bad.

It is called Petechiae, it is caused from violent emesis and/ or coughing. I have it right now too and my face swelled up really bad and my face was all blue and black from it. Yesterday my face was red and today it is still red. I hope it goes away soon.

Guy, I found a cure for the red spots! I have this eye roller, by Garnier fructis that is supposed to help with dark circles under the eye. I figured it would work on my splochyness after getting food poisoning, and I was right! THEY WERE GONE THE NEXT DAY. It's seven dollars at a walmart, and it's sold in the cosmetic isle of most drug stores. It's  called "skin renewal anti-puff eye roller" by garnier fructis. I just used it on my face, not my forehead, and the spots on my face are almost gone, compared to the untreated area on my forehead. I have never got the spots to fade so fast! Granted, this is not the intended purpose of the product, but I must say it works really well. I must also add, i used a facial scrub, and that may have helped too. TELL EVERYONE.

I find that going out and getting some sun will at least hide the spots a bit and also make you feel better.
