I GOT VIOLENTLY SICK THIS MORNING AND MY FACE IS VERY RED AND THERE IS BLOOD IN MY EYE I FEEL TIRED AND MY STOMACH HAS NOT SETTLED. IS THIS NORMAL?

This happens to me everytime I vomit.

It didn't happen when I was younger but I use to be a heavy drinker, 18 to 28. I too thought it was allergy related when it first started happening but it isn't. I still tell people it's allergies as it is a little bit embarassing and it's hard to hide as a guy.

When I was in my drinking years I would vomit quite a bit and sometimes rather violently. The Blotchiness would only happen on severe occasions. Now that I am older, started about 27, it happens every time I throw up. I am now 39 and I think that over the years the blood vessels on my face have become weaker and my episodes have become more intense. This i think is the reason that now anytime I throw up everyone thinks something is seriously wrong with me because my face is seriously red and spotted for a few days. It becomes kind of greasy feeling. It affects my hair as well. My hair feels kind of greasy.

I have found nothing that helps. I just stay hydrated and let it were off.

Hope this helps.

One thing every one that says this has never happened when they were younger think about this as you age your vessels get weaker there for can break easier, I have have had this problem for awhile, when the ones in my eyes broke headed to my eye doc she said along as it is not invading the iris not to work just use some over the counter saline drops to help with the dryness. I can tell you as a person who has this and is a nurse not to worry to much about it

Drinking salt water as soon as I can stomach it helps my face a lot. I also put aloe on to reduce the inflammation. Next time it happens I'm going to try mixing some salt with the aloe.

Drinking salt water as soon I can is what makes the dots all but non-existent in minutes, but I also remembered that in addition to the aloe, I also put on witch hazel to reduce the size of my pores. For the salt water, I put a tablespoon or so of plain sea salt in a liter of warm water. I promise this works. It will not make it go away 100%, but the redness and sweeping will go away. For whatever is left, try the witch hazel and aloe, or whatever works for you. I have also put cold avocado on face to neutralize the redness and to moisturize. Sorry this happens to you. Hope the salt water works as well for you as it does for me.

Hey I have had a bit of a heavy weekend, drinking quite allot I was sick on Monday night and yesterday morning, my eyelids are covered in red spots it looks a bit like a bruise, I had an allergic reaction last week and took steroid tablets and the puffiness went down. Is it alcohol poisoning or jus where I have been throwing up?

I am 36 and I just had a stomach bug that made me violently throw up for 8 hour straight, even dry heaving once the contents of my stomach were completely empty. I got these little red dots all around my eyes and down my cheeks. It scared the sh*t out me as I have never had this happen to me. I have puked very hard due to flu viruses as well good old drinking to much and this has never happened. So good to hear that I am not the only one and that it is not a rash or something else !

I'm glad I found this site, I took an antibiotic and forgot to eat before hand. My stomach is super sensitive so I started violently vomiting, which has happened before. I wasn't worried until I looked at my face. I assured myself it was probably just broken blood vessels, but I had to check for sure. I put lotion on my face morning and night hopefully that helps but I will definitely try the cucumber idea it sounds like a good idea... and relaxing. Thanks everyone!

My guess is you violently vomiting, that seems to be the common denominator in all of this. Take it easy on drinking for a while, just a suggestion. But lotion, allergy medicine, and cucumbers for the face. 7up and saltines for the stomach it helps.

Old post but the same has happened to me all my life, I spent most of my pregnancies covered in those little freckles. I just figure it's blood vessels bursting and it's better than what happens to my friend. She pops one in her eyes when she throws up sometimes. My two kids get them too, the teacher almost sent one home last week thinking it was something contagious since he had gotten it so bad. I am pretty fair skinned so they are kind of annoying.

My 14 year old son has just started with this. He has been sick twice this morning and has got these burst blood vessels on his face, neck and round back of his ears. I also get this and my face looks a right mess. Fortunately I'm not sick very often.

Thank you for posting this. I scared myself very badly when this happened to me today. And it seems dead on. So thank you all.
