I hate to do it, but to have any consistancy with running, I have to do it on occasion. Today I may finish with classes early... around 3 oclock or so. I could go play golf with a friend, or go run instead. I'm leaning toward running because I didn't run for 3 days this weekend, ran yesterday, and I want to keep it up. I guess it's just how much you want to commit to running though. Some people or events I'd definitely skip the run for, but this isn't one of them.
Should I feel bad about that?

Running comes first for me too.

I try hard to schedule my runs into my day so it doesn't conflict with other plans. However, I would not cancel it if someone asked me to do something last minute. I'd spend the entire time feeling guilty and thinking that I should be running.

I've done this for years now and don't see myself changing.

I plan my outings around my insane workout schedule. My friends understand. Balance is key, and I make every effort to fit it all in and give attention to everyone and everything in my life that needs and deserves it. Though I've blown off workouts for friends, and friends for workouts.

Running comes first for me too.. I run usually during the morning hours before classes or in the late afternoons/evenings when I decide to go for practice with the club. Swimming is pretty much standardized since I almost always go for the coached swim practices every week. Like what someone else had said, it's all about time management. Having some flexibility in scheduling also helps especially when something unexpected comes up.

My life <except for the J O B> gets formatted around my exercise schedule, but then again, no kids, no wife, my SO understands my level of commitement ( even if she thinks i need to be committed ) but it is all depending on what do you want, what do you want to do running wise, improve, have fun, smole the course, beat the living sh.... getting too serious again. depending on your goals depends on where your running needs to be.

Family comes first. I train very early in the morning to allow me to spend time with them. If I can't get a session in or if I am too tired in the morning, oh well, tomorrow is another day

I'm the master of juggling I guess. Sometime, somehow each day I get my training in and still fit in life's 402 other priorities of the day. Sleep is usually where I cut time out of first to make it all fit in each day.
