Does the doctor have to perform the peel?

My Dr prescribed the same meds for me also. When I went to see this new Dr. I wasn't getting them as bad or often, happy to say I was free for about 5 months. I showered and used Dove bar soap! I will be damned if they started popping up. I was pissed, I read the side effects and the negative posts whcih scared the hell out of me. I started taking the medicine I also live on pepcid by taking pepcid with the meds seem to help first of couple of days stomach cramps which were not bad and light diarrhea. I can live with that. Happy to say the BOIL has gone down less painful. Im hoping these meds help, I'm thinking being in 2 antibiotics with high mg will cure anything, will not remove scars but at least will stop them from appearing. Long time surviver of this EVIL.

Hi! I'm a 17 year old girl and I have the same issue. I'm very embarrassed by this for so so so so long, and I don't know how to get rid of it. It makes me feel so unattractive. Has anyone tried any of these things and know which one works?? I need to get rid of it, it's always noticeable when I sit with my legs crossed and am wearing shorts, and it makes me overly self conscious. Please help! I'm even too embarrassed to show my own mom..

I also have HD,and I have found removing nightshade family vegetables from my diet has improved it significantly. These include potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers. My breakouts are FAR less frequent and more manageable when they do occur. The nightshades have inflammatory properties and exacerbate the boils, making them much deeper and larger.

My doctor asked me if I ate a lot of chips or carbs and when I stopped eating chips I stopped getting them. I ate a bag of chips one day and the next day I had a boil. I hope this helps someone.

I have the same problem as well. I've been having it for as long as I can remember. I was even embarrassed to lose my virginity because of it. Losing weigh can help lessen the boils but the blackheads will remain.

I HAD this same problem when I was in my 20's and I was not overweight. I was skinny - 5'7" and 118 lbs. The boils were so painful I had to put band aids on them to protect them from the elastic on the legs of my underwear. I had them for years and finally broke down and went to a dermatologist. Now this was back in the 80's but it CURED them. He put me on ACCUTANE. I have not had one boil since. He said I had "recurrent infection of the sweat glands." He also told me to wear only cotton underwear which I have followed to this day. I do live in Texas so it's hot about 7 months out of the year. Good luck and hope this helps!

I have the dame problem, I'm 26 and had it since my teenage years. I've also had two kids and know the embarrassment. I just adapted life with it and it started to become less noticeable, and is going away on its own. What helps is if you sweat to make sure you keep yourself dry with cornstarch or with a dry cloth. And make sure you keep your thighs clean all the time. This will help prevent the problem from getting worse. Also if you're home and comfortable with the idea, stroll around in your undies, the more air circulated in the infected area the better!
