i was also going to sugest you talk to the doctor now. i dont know when the treatments are suppose to start and i dont know exactly what effect having no testicals will do to his puberty. you really need to get informed on this. the time might be closer than you think.
i was also born without testicles im 22 yrs old now.and i didn't undergo any injection or consultation at all...why do you guys need injection?etc..I wanna know what makes it different?i have no idea.and my parents we've never talk about my condition though i know there's something wrong, that i don't have testicles.btw im filipino..help me plz.
testosterone is the growth hormone normally produced by the testes in healthy males. This hormone is what brings on secondary sex characteristics during and after puberty. For males this means: hairy chest, deepening of the voice, etc.. Lack of this hormone can result in severe consequences including, but not limited to: brittle bones-osteoporosis, increased risk for heart attack, and distorted skeletal growth.
Research 'eunuchs' for more information on the affects of testosterone deprivation in the human male.
Then go so your doctor.
not everyone was born with them i wasnt born with them either
I was also born without any testicles. Soon after I was born, the doctors did surgery on me to try and find any testicles that might be in my abdomen. Since there were none, I resulted in taking testosterone shots, gradually increasing the level throughout puberty. Right now, I'm still 16 but healthy as ever! (and smartt). Thanks to my parents - who pushed me and made me do a tone of sports (like gymnastics and kendo) I'm more fit than other classmates! I also intend to stay bright. I had acne but then found this great acne soap which helped a lot. I'm able to "withstand" the monthly hormone shot (wave), which I only see as good; since it gives me more energy - I'm able to talk more, move more, eat more, sleep better. Anyways, I suggest to everyone who has the same diagnosis as me to do sports! & have a coach. It will help your bones, confidence, energy levels, sleep, and more. Also, look out for an extra sense (I have a 6th sense). May sound weird, but I have this weird belief that because I was born without testis, I was also born with a significantly stronger 6th sense. (or at least a strong sense of judgement). To add on, I have a bunch of good friends, & even told my closest friend about my condition. They didn't really seem to care. (I know that I can't have my own kids) but I kind of got over that. I guess I'll just have to adopt, or not have kids. At the same time, I also feel more free because of this. -Thanks for your time. I gotta study!
i am 34 with the same condition. I have taken the injections since age 12. I notice a substantial decrease in sexual performance if i go without the injections. Every 4 weeks now without fail. There are also topical creams that may work for you as well. Of course I would reccommend consulting a physician ( most likely an endocronologist) to make sure your levels stay consistant. best of luck
Mate, i'm 37 and was also born the same way. Think its a rare one, but you are not alone. I haven't had any help either so don't really know, but i understand exactly how you feel, its a very surreal situation.
Good to hear that you have kept on top of your condition and not let it get to you. I went through exactly the same treatment when i was young, had the injections from age 11ish. My jabs went up to 250ml every 2 weeks and stayed like that from age 16. As for stunted growth i am 6ft 6ins and 17 stone, always loved sports. I'm now 37 and going strong, i had implants fitted when i was 15, which was awkward to have while still at school but i managed to come up with a good excuse for the operation blaming muscle problems in my upper thighs!!! As for the 6th sense, i totally agree, my perception and judgement are spot on and i feel i am far more reasonable then the average guy.
Apart from the odd doctors visit to check my levels and the dreaded jab my life is normal. Happily married with an 18 year old daughter who was aged 4 when i got together with her mum.
Anyway just thought i write to say its strange to actually hear someone else is going through exactly what i did. I've never had contact with anyone who has our condition.
Thanks
i am a father also of a 14 year old in the same situation would love to talk about his situation and what we are doing to help him please respond
I doubt you can find anyone with anymore life knowledge on this subject than myself. First, I am not much of a blogger but I feel I need to respond to you. I was born without any testicles. At age 20 I underwent a exploratory surgery and found they were just not there "vanishing testes syndrom". I started HRT right way and now lead a normal life. I have two normal boys thanks to a donor. I have been able to enjoy a normal sex life. I am 51 years old. I give myself a shot every two weeks and feel great. I feel very cheated out of my high school years because I just did not have the muscle. I competed in sports but just didn't hang with the jocks. In high school I was talked about and had nicknames but life went on. One other thing. I had implants put in at age 40. In my opionion, go to your doctor, get implants, get on HRT right way and live your life. I have lived a sucessful life, full of confidence and I am happy married. Don't wait.
thank you for replying to my post my son is 14 we are thinking of going for implants at 15 what do you think. again thank you
Hi Guest
Your son has no doubt been seen regularly by your doctor and hopefully your doctor has sent him to see a specialist.
How is your son coping with having no testicles when he was younger I would think it was not much of an issue but since he is 14 there could be many issues he is dealing with like not looking the same as there other guys, relationships and wondering about being a father.
This can be a lot for a 14 year old boy to deal with and I hope his emotional well-being is being looked after as well.
Is he on any medication now to help replace what is not being produced naturally since he has no testicles.
Is he going through puberty normally?
I would suggest unless a doctor has said he needs to wait until he is 15 if implants are what he wants than the sooner the better and make well informed decisions get as much feed back as you can from as many people as you can about having implants done.
He should also have the option of counselling he may not need it but this is a lot for a 14 year old boy to deal with and he should be given the chance to see a counsellor if he wants to.
