Swelling in the area of collarbone: Check TOS under Mayo Clinic. My chiropractor told me she studied this in school and this is what I have. I have spent 7 yrs and lots, lots of money beyond my insurance. NO DOCTOR has given my pain and the swelling a second thought. Celebrax, Lyrica is what I have been given and it did not help. I am working with my chiropractor and getting massages from Michael, who also has heard of Thoratic Systems syndrome. He specializes in this kind of massage. The arteries and veins are caught up in the top rib and is causing swelling and pain. See the photos on Mayo Clinic TOS. I had several traumas: as a child my left arm was pulled out of the socket, I fell and stretched my left arm and left leg during a fall from three stairs of a spiral staircase. Sitting at a computer, phone on left shoulder and carrying heavy purses and should brief cases. I would get nausea for years and I am tough so I feel as I just would not think about it. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT. THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE TOS FROM injuries as I have mentioned. Doctors are getting worse at just giving drugs and not telling us what is REALLY WRONG/
I believe I have found my problem. I searched the internet for years also. But my Chiropractor is just a year out of school and she was taught this in school. GOOD LUCK.

Hi, surprisingly, some friends of mine just noticed my neck was growing bigger. I went for ultra sound and the doctor told me therw was nothing wrong . It is indeed frustrating if you note a condition that nobody seems to have a diagnosis or solution for... the doctor asked me to go for plastic surgery if I was feeling too bothered

I have PKD, end stage Polycystic Kidney Disease. last week I got these puffy bulges over my collar bones. both sides, started on the left but the right joined and caught up quickly. sometimes they "vanish", mostly as I change position. I do have a pinched nerve in my right shoulder, but I've never puffed up like this before. I suspect some sort of imbalance, as my dialysis causes quite a bit of imbalance. if not that, then it's something in the chemistry they use in the process of dialysis. I'll speak with my urologist next week and if he's clueless, I'll speak with my GP. however, I am not counting entirely on western medicine, and will be seeing my accupuncturist next week as well. if need be, I'll get back in touch with my chiropractor.

No, but I am trying to find out the same thing. I have the same problem going on. It was only on one side for a long time but it's now on both sides and at the end of the day it's beginning to make my neck feel strained. I'm calling the doctor on Monday. I'm beginning to get very concerned about this--mainly because of the strained feeling I have now. (Or light pain.)

I have the same thing my son said he found on the internet its caused by a lung infection. I do have a pretty nasty cold and like another poster I too was on antidepressants before this all happened. I don't have insurance so that means if i go to the doctor he looks me over charges me 200 bucks and says "virus". No treatment. So I saved my self the bill.

This swelling at the neck base and collar bone seems to be a mystery with doctors! I have the same thing on my left neck/collar bone. Although I have no pain associated with it...it's soft and gel like, just as many have mentioned. I have been on steroids for some time now for severe eczema and have some other new symptoms along with this neck swelling. My right leg below the knee has swollen up with pitting edema. That lasted about a week. Now only my foot and ankle have slight swelling and some discoloration. I also developed some chronic nausea and headaches on a daily basis. My feet are also feeling different ....like tingly sensations in my toes. I have weakness and loss of energy as well. I'm not sure what's going on but I think the steroids may have contributed to some of these symptoms. I'll be seeing my doctor as well if things don't improve. Feels like everything is falling apart. I"m 52 and have been reasonably healthy up to now. My eczema and steroids seem to have really taken a tole on me. Bad part is I have no medical insurance anymore. I guess if I'm dying, I"m out of luck!

Hi all
I have the same problems too, started a yr ago, no pain , a gel bulging side of neck, I believe a lot to do with cervical spondylosis
if you have chronic neck problems , the lymph gland are inflammed , so draining of lymphatic fluid is not adequate,
keep doing neck exercise relaxing , and yoga will help
if any body has any other solutions please post

I hope you got it checked out immediately. I had a swelling on my left side above my collarbone - unfortunately for me, it turned out to be thyroid cancer. Hopefully it is just nothing, but definitely see an endocrinologist and not just a regular doctor, because a regular doctor might just think it's from a virus as they are uneducated in thyroid issues.

I hope you can take advantage of some kind of free medical care and get yourself to an endocrinologist as soon as possibly - sounds like serious thyroid possibly even diabetic issues. Take care of yourself!!

Hi all, I also have swelling on both sides, more so on the right side which pains me sometimes. I had surgery last year November to remove a thyroid nodule that was causing breathing problems. I have multi-nodular thyroid. I only noticed the swelling after the surgery, it feels like a gel pack.
