Can you please tell me the name of the doctor? I am in Los Angeles and would like to visit her. I've had a swollen "fat pad" for 5 years, with terrible symptoms. thank you!

Hi! (to Find a Cure) Could you possibly name the doctor in Los Angeles? I would like to visit her about my lump. Glad you are doing better. I really hope you can post her name. Thank you!!

Glad to hear that this is more common than not! I, too, was told that what I was seeing was a 'fat pocket". The fat pocket is more pronounced on the right side than the left. As a matter of fact, I just noticed the pocket on the left yesterday. I refuse to go to the doctor at this point as I feel that they don't know. I feel good but hate the way the pockets look. If anyone happens to get a believable diagnosis let me know. In the meantime, I anoint and Praise God for destroying these unwanted "fat pockets".

My Husband and I still think it is Madalungs Disease or Syndrome. Look it up and see what you think. I still have no formal diagnosis. I am still going to a teaching hospital and paying too much trying to find out. I need an Endocrinologist and am hoping that they will provide one soon. Please let me know what you think of this. Take care and I hope all are doing better or at least not any worse. Take Care, I have been away for a while traveling. I really hate this stuff. I did just find out today that my eldest sister just noticed swelling as well. Hmmm. Docmex

I too have long thin (speed bump) swelling on both sides above collar bone. had xrays, bloodwork, ct, and ultrasound. all were clear. during the ultrasound the doc said it just seems like a muscle. now the only muscle i can find in that area is the m.omohyoideus (ventor inferior) . its in the exact position of my long swellings and runs the same direction. but this doesn't explain why i wake up and cant feel them in the morning yet they aPpear through the day? hmmmm mystery.

I too have this awful swelling on both sides of the neck, just above collarbone. I just can't determine what it could be. Appreciate your feedback.

I have the same thing. Looks like gel pockets right above my collarbone on both sides. Definitely comes and goes and never really noticed what made it worse. Yesterday went for a massage (ART Active Release Therapy) and have been very stressed lately. The therapist said it is lymphatic fluid getting trapped due to the extremely tight muscles in my neck, shoulders and upper back. As she worked on pressure points to break down the tightness, she could actually see the "pockets" going down. When I was finished, they are measurably less prominent; still there but much smaller. I have scheduled weekly treatments for a while to get my muscles back in balance.

I first had this happen when I was 25 years old and was told it was a branchial cleft cyst. It didn't appear again until I was around 35, then not again until about a year later. But for the past year it has reoccurred about every 1-6 weeks consistently. Since this last episode of it reoccurring so frequently, my PCP referred me to an ENT specialist for a CT scan which only showed "swollen tissue" and no cyst. He referred me to another ENT specialists for ultrasounds, scans and an MRI, all still showing nothing except mysterious, swollen tissue. It is only on my right side right above the collarbone. It is so frustrating to say the least. I usually have congestion and fatigue and the swelling lasts about 3 days. It gets very large and tight and it happens overnight. I wake up and it is swollen and gets larger throughout the day until I can barely lift my arm above my head or turn my head. If anyone has any answers, please let me know. Thank you

I am 52 yr. old white female. Had partial hystorectomy 2 yrs. ago....chronic severe pain and infection for 6 mos. following surgery. year later had exploratory surgery had endometriosis, scares from 2 c-sections, ovarial cyst and unfortunately I was diognoses with IC (a bladder disfunction) it is soooo painful that death would be a relief. Then I noticed the swelling above my collar bones, have had this for a year. I have been to my IC specialist (who was very concerned and said he was afraid I could have lung cancer - Iwas a 30 yr. smoker quit last Jan.) IC doc did ovaries cancer test (CR125) negative no ovary cancer. Then he sent me to Endo. who said I have Hypo...more pills, the I completely lost my voice for about 7 or 8 weeks. went to ENT quick scope said I was covered with poylops more meds (Majic mouthwash?) then I went to dentist to have fillings replaced...long story short I had a cracked filling replaced with a crown, a month later still bothersome, xray says I have abcess go to specialist to do root canal he says hole through my jawbone caused my infection...more meds (antibiotics) caused yeast infection...more meds then recheck with ENT he says polYps gone and 3 days later my voice comes back. hAVE had CT of lungs...all clear. I have had CT scans, xrays, etc. Endo now sending me to Hemotologist b/cause my IgG levels are wacky, my cholesterol has gone nuts (never had it b4 in my life) myCortisol is 6.9 I am Vit. D defieciant. Am having a sleep study done also. I go to a doctor at LEAST once a week every week for over a year. I am wondering if we all live in a area that had a chemical we are all reacting too! I live in North Alabama and I am so tired of this. Just want answers instead of being pushed off to another doc.

Have very large swollen subclavicular lymph nodes on both sides of neck as well. Dr.s cannot give me any idea of what it is or what the cause is. They appeared shortly after a rollover accident in 2011 and have not gone down. I have had fusions in the cervical spine and shoulder surgery and the swelling has not been affected from either of these surgeries. The subclavicular node on the right is about the size of a lemon and the one on the left is about the size of a golf ball.
I too would like some insight as to what causes this or if there is something to do to get rid of the swelling.

Wow Kim, You sound very much like me and my symptoms. I just got back from a visit with the Endocrinologist and she believes it's adrenal connected as well. Back to the Cortisol test which was normal last Feb. hmmm. We'll see. Please keep us posted and I hope you are on your way to recovery. God Bless, Docmex

I know this is more than a year after your posts but I am hoping that you can look into Visceral manipulation work. A good practitioner (can be a PT, DO, DC MT) can possibly find restrictions in your thorax that may be causing fluid build up, restricted ROM, breathing and panic attacks due to pressure on the vagus nerve. It may also have an emotional component that can be addressed with the work. Good luck to you~ check out the Barral institue
