We went to the pediatrician 3 times and they prescribed antibiotics, which didn't clear it up completely. We finally went to a dermatologist & he prescribed steroid cream 2 weeks ago. Today, on our follow up visit, he said that it looks like some sort of Pox Virus. There are about 20-25 small, reddish bumps on my daughter's innder thighs & around her vaginal area. He put some medication on where it formed a 'coat' or seal, that we left on for 45 min, then removed (very painfully) with tweezers. He says it'll take about 3 weeks to clear up.
I've never heard of anything like this before & can't find anything like it online.
Can someone tell me what this is & what the medicine he gave her today was supposed to do? Once we pulled it off, some of her little blisters seemed to seep a clear liquid for a little bit.

Thanks in advance,
CS
