I'm a 23 year old male. It's been one week since I first noticed that it burned when I urinated. During that time I've also noticed the lymph nodes on my left groin seem to be swollen and slightly sore. I went to the doctor and got tested for Chlamydia and Gonnorea which came back negative. He perscribed me Azithromycin while we waited for results. One dose of two 500mg pills, which has done nothing for my symptoms.
I had this problem about two years ago, and while my STD tests came back negative, the antibiotics worked that time. But he gave me something different on that occasion, can't remember the name but it was taken over the course of 5 days.
Now, I have been single and sexually active for some time now, but over the past 2 months have been seeing this girl and have only been with her. She has no symptoms, and I'm thinking if it's an STD it was something I picked up before her. I'm proned to anxiety and naturally have been browsing the internet, self-diagnosing, and I'm freaking myself out. Could this be a symptom of herpes? I have no sores, rashes, etc. No discharge either.
I'd also like to mention that this started towards the end of my Spring Break, in which I spent a day on the river (brackish water) and a few days at the beach. Perhaps I got something inside my urethra or injured myself without realizing? I still don't know if this would cause my swollen lymph node. The only thing that's seemed to help is drinking cranberry juice.
