My dad always bought Craftsman ones (he also replaced them a lot) I was thinking Husquvarna or Poulan.

Stihl. Not that we use ours very often. But hubby has a thing about spending lots of money on tools.
My Stihl Farm Boss is a cuttin' sumbeach. Huskies are good also. I'd stick with one of those two brands. Craftsman chainsaws suck. Homeylites are servicable for the average homeowner but if you got 40 acres I'd buy a good one.
Just how does one know the difference between a good chainsaw and a bad chainsaw?? I'm just askin' :umno:

I have a Stihl for serious work but I just used my new Ryobi battery one to cut the Christmas tree and it worked fine.
I'll agree that Craftsman suck, and I always wanted a better one, but I just never decided........
