I have been diagnosed with BV and have been off the pill since June we are trying to get pregnant but are not having any luck is it possible that BV is stoping me from getting pregnant??? Any suggestions. It was really easy for me to get pregnant before I have two children, but I was never on the pill before. What is my next step?? %-)
I've done some reseach, it seems BV doesn't prevent you from gettin pregnant, but it DOES mean you ar 30% more likely to have a 1st trimester miscarriage. Best advice, talk to your doc.

Hello spanishfly,

First off, depending on how long have you been on the pill and which pill, it might take for about a month, sometimes two months for your menstrual cycle to get back on track. That is one thing, the other one is – bacterial vaginosis. Even if you did stay pregnant now, like the previous poster said, there is far more risk for the baby when there is an infection present.

So, it’s obvious that you need to treat bacterial vaginosis first. This might mean taking antibiotics, but also, it might help to strengthen your immunity with vitamins and probiotics. This definitely means you will have to see a gynecologist so you can know for sure what is going on.
