I was a very asthmatic child and for several periods both before and durring puberty was treated with prednisone. I've had to deal with the stigma of man boobs my whole life. I'm now excerciseing daily and making good progress on my weight. I'm 5-7 with a broad frame and am currently down to 226 from 235 with a lot of new muscle. I've been dropping a steady 3-5 pounds a week with a combination of upper body strength training and regular intensive cardio, as well as diet moderation.

I still have a good 30 - 40 lbs to loose to be at my ideal weight. My rough goal is to see how I feel at 180 and then adjust my routine to sculpt. I've been reading a lot of information on the web about gynecomastia and surgery, but haven't found any information I would consider balanced and informative about excercise and it's effectiveness for correcting the condition or specific routines for doing so. Can anyone point me some good resources?

I have the same problem a note on the surgery tho, after looking at it one place said to loss some weight first. the weight you have is probablty the same weight you have had throught out your teen years, true gyno is a tissue not just fat tho, my nipple is over 2 inches in diameter and protudes about an inch, im with the other guy for a class action lawsuit that would intitle us to corrective surgeries if we wanted it, my nipples went like this before, i was a kid i had no say in the drugs being pushed by the doctors.

My heart really goes out to you guys who had to endure this embarrassing condition due to medications that caused this problem. I feel bad because you are right in saying that you are had no say in how you were treated so I'm sure you feel angry. Let us know if you are able to move forward with a class action suit or what you decide to do about your situation.

I'm glad to see this thread.  Most places state that corticosteroids (such as most asthma inhalers) do not cause gynecomastia, and that only anabolic steroids do.  That being said, I'm dealing with the same problems, been asthmatic and on meds most my life, and never once knowingly touched anabolics, so.   These idiots who want to instantly jump to "oh, it's just because you're fat" need to be smacked, too.

Personally, I am a bit overweight, granted; but there's a difference between feeling fatty tissue and feeling muscle mass.  So.

I also have suffered with this condition since about 10-12 years old and funny thing is that's about the same time I started taking inhalers to control my asthma, 10 years later I lost a lot of weight and was in great shape and still had them, now regained weight and they are worse than ever more than 20 years later. If anyone has any advice on legal action or success reducing them please help!

I have also used prednisone for asthma and now have man boobs. Been trying to research solutions and to see if there is a current class action suit against the company. If this is something everyone agrees on we should look into doing this soon.

I too am suffering from this. I was a very active, in shape kid. I accidentally got diagnosed with an asthma disorder (I dindnt have asthma. I had a dairy allergy. Was on those inhalers for a few months until the doctor corrected it. I blew up like a watermelon soon after and have had gynocemastia ever since. I tried piercing them and they're the same. I've looked into surgery, too expensive. I've tried intense workouts, lost 65lbs, I'm vegan, gluten free, soy free, I don't eat refined sugars. It was the f*****g inhaler. Im all for legal action. The mental stress that having this condition has caused me is unbearable anymore. I'm 24 and in such good shape but can't, and won't take my shirt off because my nipples alter my physique in such a depressing, embarrassing way..

Wow!!!! So I was a skinny kid and had asthma since age 4. I continued to have it but then I was given Prednisone and in 5th grade blew up. I went from skinny kid to EXTREMELY overweight and developed very large chest. I can't believe I found this site. It's a horrible drip and I will never let my kids take it if there is an alternative!!!!!!

I was also really surprised when I came to know that asthma inhalers and meds do cause gynecomastia. Well there are no proven facts. But still so many asthmatic people report it.it becomes. A matter of research for future..BT what to do now other than surgery.do gyne meds ,Creams or exercise help?

I'm 19 years old, in shape and been living with gynecomastia since I was 13. I can not afford surgery. Are there any pills I could take to help reduce it?

Same. Once I used the inhalers my whole life changed forever. Life has been hell. I'm in my late 30s n don't want to go on
