No thrush is a disease/infection that can effect genials eyes and mouth, chlamidia is restricted to genitals only. Also its not transferred by hand to hand/item contact. You may have had it for years before discovering it so it does not always mean your partner has been unfaithful either.

Chlamydia is NOT restricted to just the genitals. It also causes a great number of eye infections and can cause blindness.

Look up chlamydia conjunctivitis or chlamydia trachomatis.

It is not transferred by hand contact however.

Idk how but there a way to get this std chlamydia, without having sex. Bc me and my partner didn't have sex at all. It was like dry humping in a way and im assuming he had it and didn't know it and have it to me.but there was no sex involved. Weird.

I really needed that thank you,my mom accused my fiance of giving it to me when I know she'd never do that and they said maybe I am sleeping around. But in all reality I'd never do anything like that and I believe it's cruel to accuse and not look into it further . it's been pissing me off but I needed your comment.Thank you(:

OK....bacteria is a kind of organism, Chlamydia an Gonnorea are the names of a couple of types of bacteria. ( so is MRSA- Medicinally Resistant Staph. Aureas) yes, they are STDs and no, Chlamydia doesn't "turn into Gonnorea" the Dr is right, and if you read what the CDC has out ( Center for Disease Control) you'ld understand what he/she is saying. It is passed on by mucous membrane contact. That means warm, moist tissue in contact with body fluid carrying the bacteria (while the Chlamydia bacterium is still alive) & other mucous membrane. In other words-sexual contact with an infected sex part enter, like it or not. No " Drs aren't God", but they do go to school for a LONG time to become an MD.

Dear "used to be a Chemistry .major", I do not know who has blown Scientist somoke at you however, your argument pertaining to one's ability to "know" the behavior, or transmission routes of any specific vector ( organism causing the disease to be spread) is a bit flawed. One no more has to be a scientist to understand the etymology of a given organism, than one has to be a mathmatician to grasp the concepts of mathematics. The point of education is to glean information from others with a better understanding of a subject.

I'm afraid that you have been grossly misinformed. MRSA is a communicable disease, and can be contracted through casual contact with an infected person and yes that includes sex. However the medical establishment et al, has not reclassified MRSA as a STD.

I strongly question your medical claims and knowledge.I am a retired doctor and single, as my wife passed away nearly 20 years ago. I have not indulged in any form of sexual activity in that time yet recently tested positive for chlamydia. Neither my GP nor I have any idea how it was contracted but a short course in antibiotics cleared it up completely. Some of my cheeky offspring have been suggesting lewd things involving the koalas that live in the reserve near my house, but I assure everyone that I am not up to chasing attractive Koalas up gum trees. Further research on the subject is obviously needed but the best advice is get regular check-ups from your doctor if you suspect anything is not as it should be.

Ok people. Now I'm in the same boat as you guys. I was diagnosed with this damn horrible chlamydia virus, but I did not get it through sex with someone else. I have never been unfaithful, but now everyone thinks I have. My girlfriend left me recently because of this and I'm f****** lost. It's a horrible feeling to be accused of something you have delibrately never done. the only thing I can come up with is toilets. i have a tendency to flush the toilet while sitting down on it. I always felt water spatter on my penis, but I was never concerned. Is it at all possible to get this like that. Please help. I need to at least be able to show everyone else that I'm not that jerk.

I been in a relationship for 10 years have 3 daughters and was never tested positive for any STD. Always current with my Pap smears and always negative to anything. Two weeks ago I went to remove my IUD and at the same time tested for any infections and STDs, went back two weeks later to have another IDU place and doctor tells me that we cannot put the IDU cause I been tested positive for chlamydia. I come home talk with my husband and he tells me he hasn't been going around and I know for fact I haven't mess around either. His been the first and till today the only partner I have. But I cannot close my mind and just believe that I got it some other way. He was divorce when I meet him but going back it's been 7years that am the only woman his been with. Now my question is, after all this years having my kids getting all Pap smears done came back negative all the time now this STD is active now in my body after so long can it be true. What can I do. Or think.

No this is a living organism automatically dies when outside the body. It only lives inside our organism which means that can only get infected via intercourse, or oral. Just like HIV or any other STD
