OK.

I'm at a loss Kelly. It should not keep recurring. Talk to your ob/gyn and see what they recommend.

I'm wondering if maybe you are having a reaction to the specific type of condom that may be aggravating this. I'm assuming the condom is latex, try another material.

It's about the only thing I can think of.

Please keep us posted. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the help.Like I said the last doctor that I did see said that it could be coming from anything and that I could be more sensative to stuff like the latex condoms or it could be from something else.Everyone else seem's to be at a loss as well. But thank you for the help anyway.

The best way reoccuring bacterial vaginosis was explained to me is this:

If you change the environment, you change the kind of bacteria that can live and grow there.

DONT douche, dont use scented body washes or soaps (and if you do, try really hard not to get it in the vaginal area), avoid bubble baths, dont stick anything up there that isnt supposed to be there (food, foreign objects), at least change your clothes after a workout if you cant shower right away, wearing close fitting clothes (bathing suits, tight pants, leotards) keeps your vagina from breathing and that can also cause an imbalance.

Bacterial vaginosis is common. I'm no doctor but I think it's safe to assume that most women will experience it at some time in her life. The best advice I can give you is to practice safe and regular hygiene, keep using condoms, and dont be embarassed! Ask questions and get informed. Dont be afraid to tell or ask your doctor anything. Believe me, they see hundreds of patients and have most likely heard it before. They are there to help you but cant help you properly without GOOD information. If you want it to stop/go away, then make sure your doctor knows everything you know.

this is my 2nd time dealing with BV. The first time I used Femanol and it worked great. I got a 6 month supply for $187, sounds like a lot, but it's 3 bottles free. I used my my six months and everything was fine for about 6 months. Until yesterday, I wonder if it was because I went swimming in the pool and didn't shower afterwards... ? It felt so great to be BV free, I ordered some more. If it's something I have to take so I don't have to worry about that, it's what I'm going to have to do. I wish you the best of luck!!

I used to get bv every month sometimes even twice a month a year and a half. Ive seen multiple docs, one would say its passed from my partner and another said that my partner doesnt cant cause it. I was referred to a doctor that specializes in BV and told me to use unscented everything. I switched over my detergent, body wash , lotion, babywipes, stopped taking baths with anything and using over the counter products for bv. Me and my partner still have sex with no condom and he will cum multiple times in me. I now make sure i shower and get everything out down there once we are finished. So far since my docs advice ive been bv free for 2 months. Its been great and def a life changer. I feel normal again.

Men carry the bacteria in their sperm so when they orgasm and aren’t using protection with their partner, they pass the bacteria to the woman. A man is absolutely the carrier of bacterial vaginosis. They may not have symptoms like women do but they will continue reinfecting their female partner with it if they’re not treated. The woman gets an imbalance of bacteria from having sex with the man who carries it in the tip of his penis and passes it to her. What you are saying just isn’t true, a woman’s ph gets off because of the acidity of the sperm in the man. Then once her ph level is off the bacteria will overgrow in the vagina.

What medic Dan says is true, BV is caused by an acidic imbalance in the vagina just like thrush is, both yeast and BV bacteria is constantly present in the vagina and a slight imbalance either way gives either one chance to take hold.
A guy who eats a lot of sweet food can change the vaginal pH as his sperm will be sweeter so that can cause a yeast infection where as a guy who eats less sweet food can change the vaginal pH as his sperm will be more sour and can cause the BV bacteria to take hold. So you see he doesn't actually carry the bacteria unless he has a foreskin and never pulls it back to wash then he may!
