I was recently diagnosed with RCC (Renal Cell Carcinoma). When I discovered a lump on my left testicle, I was concerned. The problem would be, It would only show up about 30% of the time, and only while laying down. It'd be a hard bump on the inside side of the testicle.

While talking to my oncologist concerning my RCC, I told him of my lump. He did order a sonagram. Another reason for concern is I was born 2 months premature. My right testicle is only 1/3 the size of my left. I was told this is common amoung premies. Having a late decended testicle could cause testicular cancer. So I was doubly worried (having cancer and being prone to testicular cancer).

The sonogram tech said that everything was OK, that testicular cyst is fairly common. She didn't find anything to be worried about. Wouldn't you know it, since the exam (3 days ago), it hasn't shown up since.

Im 25 now and I have had issues with my right testicle swelling up once in a blue moon from since the age 16. But after taking antibiotics it would eventually go back to normal. The tube leading to the testicle has always felt firmer and a slight painful area like knot. At 25 it became swollen again but way bigger than usual and after getting an ultra sound I was told I had a cyst on the tube. But told it shouldnt cause my testicle to become swollen. The area is painful, and I worry that the cyst could become cancerous. My Grandfather has prostate cancer. Im told that if they do surgery they would remove the tube and I would have only one testy that would function for having children. Doctors are saying that they cannot assure me that removing the cord will stop the pain, and reoccuring infections that cause the whole testie to swell up! I would like to get a second opinion.

Ive got about 8 cysts between both testicles, some come and go irregularly. Ive visited the doctor and they said id have to wait about a year until they remove them since its only a cosmetic thing. Ive removed about 10 myself in the past (some reoccur) with just a sharp pin, an open flame and some detol. I have had no harm or infections from doing so. However they dont heal too well. Its been months some still havent closed the wound completely. Just get yourself checked out, the only thing that bothers me is the look, the cyst themselves arnet causing me any worry. Plus, i asked about anti biotics, and in Australia they wont supply them, so its just waiting for surgery.

I know it is embarassing but just go to a doctor and get it checked out. It will be well worth it! It could be just a cyst but to be sure go to the doctor.

Okay, I was just scoping this site because my younger bro has some pain in one of his testicles. However, I read all these posts. I'm 28, when I was about 18 I found a lump on the chord attached to one of my testicles - and let it slide, sort of forgot about it, and Imagined that it was just the tubing of the epidi... However, when I was about 25 I was living in Spain, had some rough sex and in the morning almost fainted in the shower when I found that the thing was really tender and enlarged (really maybe only the size of a pea..but believe me, that is big enough to wierd me out)
I thought I had cancer like the rest of you, flew to the UK. got an ultrasound..and I remember the doctor just saying "it seems you're probalby just a particularly cysty person"..While I wasn't sure how to take that...he told me I had a few other smaller ones. I still notice them today. every once and a while my fiance is pulling some maneuver on me and I notice I'm sensitive. However, not a big issue. So don't freak out lads. Always good to have it checked but don't sweat it. Its highly likely you're fine. ONe last point: every now and then I take adderall. Someone mentioned something about melatonin. As I understand it they are VERY different drugs. That said, adderall makes my cysts become much more sensitive. Very weird that. I've noticed it many times. Hope that helps.

Guys......I just came from the doctor. I had been experiencing discomfort off and on for months, and had put off getting it checked because of a combination of fear and embarrassment. Anyways she said it is probably nothing but scheduled me for an ultrasound in 2 weeks just to make sure. Just having her check it and having some professional opinion has lifted what felt like the weight of the world off my shoulders. I was stupid for putting it off for so long while worrying about it. The exam was nothing. If you're experiencing the same problem my advice to you is GO GET CHECKED. Its probably not cancer, but if it is, its very treatable. The exam wasn't half as bad as I expected. Worrying about it all the time was much much worse.

I am 33 years old and found that I, too, have a testicular cyst. I am not sure if it is exactly that causing all the pain, but I have had excruciating pain with mine. I mean, it has been crippling at times. I was told to leave work and was not allowed to go back for a week and a half. My boss could see that I was having a lot of pain and difficulties dealing with it. When I went to the doctor, he said that it was called epiditimitis and could be cured using Ciproflaxocin. I took it for 2 weeks to no avail. He sent me to get an ultrasound and it was determined to be a testicular cyst. He prescribed me sulfur tablets to take. After 2 weeks, it was still as big as it was when I first went there. He was alarmed because the sulfur should have, at least, made the cyst shrink in size. It did not have this affect. As a matter of fact, it has gotten worse(as far as the pain is concerned). I was referred to a specialist who prescribed me medication.
I disagree with this because I have been on, now, 4 different meds in the past almost 3 months. We asked about them taking it out, but the doctor told us absolutely NOT. We are very upset about this because the pain is starting to cause other problems. I am starting to experience some severe diarrhea, aggitated stomach/bowels, aches all over my body and I am not making it through this well. I have to wait another 3 weeks before I can get seen by the other urologist. I am very angry about this because I don't think that they realize how bad I am hurting. Plus, my grandfather died of cancer, my grandmother is going through her second bout with cancer and my mom is fighting cancer right now. That places me in prime candidacy to go through this too. What should I do? I feel that I have expended all my available resources and am also fighting through some other defects that were incurred while active duty military. The meds they put me on makes it where I can't take my meds for arthritis/pain. Now, on top of feeling the groin pain, I have to suffer through the pain of two blown out knees and a separated shoulder. Do you have any suggestions?

I have had one too, since I was in my late teens and i'm now 32. Granted mine isn't very large and doesn't cause me a great deal of discomfort. I had it checked out by the doctor when I found it, ad an ultrasound on it and was told it was just a cyst on my epidydimis and it was nothign to worry about. I keep a check on it but it doesn't appear to be getting any larger.

As a general rule, a cencerous lump will be soft to the touch (a little like a hard jelly lump) and will generally not be painful. A Cyst is benign in nature and are hard and can sometimes cause a little pain or at least be uncomfortable.

Basically though, if you find anything and your not sure it should be there then get yourself to the doctors and get them to check it. A little embarrassment is better than dying of cancer surely. Better to be safe than sorry!

I am 28 years old and I discovered about 5 years I had a cyst on my testicle. I am going to see if I can get it removed b/c twice a year it gives me problems. In the last 3 years I have been on short term disibilty 4 times. But when it gets sensative it feels like someone is kicking me in the nuts over and over again. They tell me that is is not cancer. It's about the size of an peanut M&M. They say that it is located on the part of my testical that extract semen, and if removed, it could be difficult to have anymore kids. At first I was just going to deal with it. But if I continue to it's going to cost me my job.

I'm sixty I have one the size of a large egg for ten years. Hurts like hell. I've been to two urologists at very prestigious hospitals. They both said to leave it alone. Some days, I fell like removing it myself. If i get drunk enough I just might. Wish me luck
