I'll start this off saying I haven't had unprotected sex and know that a doctor is always the best option for diagnosing problems so I don't hear it a thousand times in the reply's.
Ok, so I've had this dark spot on my penis shaft since I was about 14, or possibly earlier at the time I thought it was just a bruise but it never went away, it didn't hurt so I never did anything about it. Later I developed hyperpigmentation on my stomach so i though that's what was wrong with my penis to.
I think possibly a year later I noticed small red bumps on the underside of the shaft of my penis, (less than 1mm) I can't tell if it's gotton worse over the year because I choose to ignore it like alot of idiots do. Around the same time I noticed a wart like growth near the other small bumps.
Anyway now I'm 18 and have EVEN more dark spots on my penis, additional dark spots are on the shaft as well as the head, and my question to you is, do you think this is Penile Cancer? And if not then what is the problem?
I know the pictures aren't the best quality but please do what you can with them: (paste into web browser)

I am unsure, and not really able to help all that much, however, if you feel it may be a problem, perhaps getting a proper check up, may be your best bet.
I'm sure someone will be able to help you here, however, a doctor may be your best bet.
I got this from wikipedia (not the best source, sure but still)

Symptoms
Redness, irritation, or a sore on the penis or a lump on the penis. Anyone with these symptoms should consult a doctor immediately
If it turns out I have penile cancer at 18 and am circumcised I'm naturally going to be pissed but sadly I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that it's exactly what I have. :-(
So I happen to draw the 1 out of 100,000 card to get cancer? Shoot I wish that kind of "luck" followed me to the lottery.

Hi,
I don't think you have penile cancer. I can't say for sure but from your pictures I think you have a very common pigmentation problem.
Usually, from what I've seen, cancers would tend to look like an ulcer or an open sore that doesn't heal. It's also very uncommon for someone 18 to have penile cancer.
The red spots/bumps are probably fordyce spots. You are at the right age to develop them. They are not contagious and are not an STD.
If you can, go see a skin doctor and have it checked. I really don't think it either problem that serious.
Hope that helps, keep us posted.

Thanks for the help, but is this kind of pigmentation on the penis really common? I heard it's rare for males to get hyperpigmentation at all and it's ESPECIALLY rare for them to get it in areas that aren't exposed to the sun. (cough penis)
Hi,
The thing that I'm looking at is that you already have been diagnosed with hyperpigmentation. In that case it is likely that that is what you are seeing. The penis is more heavily pigmented than the rest of your body.
The best solution is for you to see a dermatologist. They can evaluate your specific situation much better than can be seen from the pictures.
I still do not think it is cancer.
Please keep us updated and good luck.

I kind of self-diagnoised myself as having hyper-pigmentation as there is not really much else that would make one half of my stomach a different shade from the other, also my arms have plenty of sun-spots and my legs which haven't been exposed to sun in years have a patch of little dark spots.
I also think I have Gynecomastia, and since hyperpigmentation and Gynecomastia can both be caused by hormone inbalances I'm guessing that's the root of all the problems. But as to what is causing the hormone inbalances I don't know. Then again I could be completely wrong.
Anyway I have a doctors appointment secduled for August 4th (no matter how embarrassing it may be) and hopefully he can get to the bottom of this.

Hi,
I'm glad you're going to see a doctor. You should feel a lot better afterwards.
You don't need to be embarrassed though. Trust me, the doctor has seen and heard everything.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I'll be sure to let you know what he ends up saying.
Your name has me curious, are you just a knowledgeable person or do you have a medical background?

I'm still an everyday person but yes, I am in the medical field.
I'm a paramedic. Before that I was a volunteer EMT-Basic. I've been doing this for more than 10 years.
My wife got me into this. She's been a nurse for almost 25 years. I volunteered at the local hospital for a while then started taking some nursing classes. Then I found out that I could do a lot more as an EMT. I made a career change to get into the field and haven't regretted it since. I love this.
Hope that helps.

Well I went to the doctor today, but told him nothing of penile discoloration, but at least I have a reason.
He walked in, asked what was wrong, I showed him my stomach and leg pigmentation and he basically gave me a look like "what do you want me to do about it?"
He seemed to just not care and asked me if it bothered me (dumb question, if it didn't bother me why would I see a doctor about it?) anyway I told him yes and he said the discoloration would probably never go away but there is some medication that may help a bit, he asked if I wanted to see a specialist and I said yes and he is supposed to call back once the dermatologist comes in.
I'll just show it to the dermatologist since the regular doctor didn't seem to know much anyway.
(on a funny note he saw some stretch marks on my back and called them "lines" seriously? wtf lines? If I was the doctor I would have said "those are stretchmarks by the way nothing to worry about") Makes me wonder if HE even knew what they were lol.

I'm glad you're going to see the dermatologist. It seems like the regular doctor couldn't be bothered from your posting.
Hang in there. Let us know what happens. Not all doctors have that attitude.

Well my doctor has still not called me back.... it's been two weeks today since I was there.
I'm thinking about switching doctors as this one seems to be just blowing me off or hoping I would "forget about it."

Not all doctors are like that. I'm sorry you're having trouble.
Give your doctor a call and ask whoever answers as to when the dermatologist comes in. Be polite but be pushy. I'd let them know that you were expecting THEM to call you. I think you've been more than patient with this doctor. Push for the appointment. The doctor may not be taking it seriously, but let them know that you are.
You are the patient (and the consumer) here. It's time to get a little pushy.
Give them a call and make the appointment, or find another doctor.
Good luck. Keep us posted.
