I just had bad flu from last Thursday. I finished my period last Tuesday but now I am recovering I woke up this morning to heavy bleeding. Is this what the flu has caused? Thanks.

Wondering the same thing! I got sick a couple days before my period in January, and was miserable. Period only lasted two days, but it was normal flow and color. The day period stopped, I started throwing up. I had a high fever, chills, severe stomach cramping and abdominal pain, extreme fatigue and weakness/ shaky muscles, and severe vomiting (5-7 times a day). This went on for FOUR WEEKS. I have never been so sick before in my life. I couldn't even keep fluids down, couldn't eat anything, husband had to help me to the shower and I had to lay on the tub floor to wash my hair-- it was interesting lol. I got so weak I couldn't even lift my arms over my head. Went to the hospital a couple times, but aside from giving fluids, they couldn't help me due to severe allergies to ALL drugs and antibiotics-- would have just made everything worse. I monitor my cervical mucus, and I honestly had "infertile" cervical mucus for the first 3 weeks, and then I noticed "fertile" cervical mucus for only one day, before it went back to "infertile". I'm six weeks in, currently, and I'm down to diarrhea and puking every couple days, instead of multiple times every day, major respiratory infection and coughing/ gagging, still can't really eat much, and my fever comes back every couple days if I over-exert myself. Period is "due" anywhere from Friday to Tuesday of next week, and I would be very surprised if I don't skip it altogether. I have never been so sick before, in my entire life. I know at least 5 people who got this nasty stomach flu around me, and one friend had it for 4 months and had to be hospitalized, while the rest had a minimum recovery time of 6 weeks, most of them taking 2-3 months to become fully recovered. I'm normally a clockwork regular cycle, but it makes alot of sense to me that when you are that sick, your reproductive system shuts down. There's no way you could support a baby while so sick, and under so much stress. I'm always paranoid that I'm pregnant, but I do absolutely believe that the stomach flu or any severe illness can delay or prevent your reproductive system functions. Curious as to how your situation turned out since this was over a year ago!

I have a really bad case of the stomach flu and have had for 4 days now. My period ended only 6 days ago and it started again yesterday!! I'm trying to find information about it and if it's something to worry about but it's so hard to find anything online about this!

Hi, I've had the flu and a clot for a few days and now I got my period. When I cough, it hurts near my hip area, and it's painful. Is that bad?

Is it normal for me to feel tired, weak, and lose appetite when I'm on my period? I have had pain in my lower stomach for about a day now. Can you tell me what you think it might be?

I had my period about two weeks ago, then I got the stomach flu that lasted 4 days. Two days into the flu I started having menstrual bleeding. Any ideas why that would happen?
