So I'm new to this site, just found it yesterday actually. What a relief I must say. I just turned 18 and at a party at the beginning of July, which my friends threw for my birthday, I wound up drunkenly having sex with a friend of mine. It's almost two months later-minus about a week- and I know that my period is late. I'm starting to freak out quite a bit now. I know that you can skip your period and that's sometimes due to stress or just because you aren't regular yet, but It just kinda fits.
There wasn't a condom and we didn't know it was going to happen so we didn't use one and I'm not on the pill or anything. So I know that makes my chances so much greater, and this act so much stupider. I'm so afraid of taking the test, but I'm also skeptical of whether I should take it or not. I really don't have any other symptoms that go along with this. I mean my period is late but I have no sickness, cravings, or tiredness. However, my breasts are somewhat sore, which I know is a symptom of both pregnancy and sometimes your period. Am I just being paranoid or should I just man up and take the test?
Take HPT asap. It will show up if you are pregnant. If it says negative, then I would suggest, you take assistance from doctor to confirm it as sometimes, HPTs act weird. But as a first step, take HPT.
Hi, well as you said period can be affected by things such as medications and drugs, stress, anxiety and flu. Maybe some of these factors is the cause of your latency. However, if you are so worried about whether you are pregnant or not you should definitely take the home pregnancy test. I mean, its just a test. The test itself wont make you pregnant, you are either already pregnant or not when you take a test. The test wont change anything , it will only give you correct information .The sooner you know the results , the better because you will have more time to think to make decisions. When taking it make sure its first thing in the morning and that it has been at least 10 days since your last unprotected intercourse. Hope this helps.
So my period came the day that I posted this. And I thought 'Oh thank God'. Until I started getting sick. The past two days I've felt like hell, and sure that could be the flu or something. But I'm not on my period anymore. It was there for like a day and a half, and now its gone. I'm never that light. If I am light it still lasts a good five or six days. So now I'm even more scared than I was when I didn't have it at all.
