Tried smoking it and eating it. Smoking has no affect beyond a sore throat and eating it has no affect except that after about 3 hours I get violently sick, throw everything up and then I am fine again. Very frustrating. I have had 3 separate packets from 2 sources and 2 of them smelt very strong.

Have you smoked marijuana with other people? It may be that the marijuana that you have is not potent, or you may have not smoked enough of it, or you may not have smoked it properly. That, or the whole violently sick part sounds like you might be slightly allergic to it. Have you considered that?
