Hi everyone,

I am a 20 year old woman who is basically going crazy with the idea of a possible pregnancy.
The man I'm seeing and I had sex last weekend 3/9/12 and the condom broke.
We did not realize this until after he ejaculated inside of me...
I have been on birth control pills (I am "tri-cycling" where I only have my period four times a year) for almost three years now, haven't missed a pill in quite a while (Meaning a month or longer), and I always take my pill around the same time every day.
I was unable to obtain transportation to pick up Plan B, which I have taken once before in my life around the age of sixteen.
I discovered from my health care provider that I am able to use my BCP as an emergency contraceptive. I did so within twelve hours of the incident.
I'm not quite sure how to calculate ovulation or anything, but I am on the second pack of three, just finished the second week of pills since I used extra as an EC.
And alcohol was consumed prior to the sexual encounter, if that matters very much.

I am very curious about the likelihood/probability of pregnancy. I do know and understand the effectiveness rates for each method very well; so please refrain from sharing this information, if possible.
If you are a regular birth control user i would not be to to concerned with pregnancy. Ovulation does not occur in relation to the previous period, but rather to the next period. You will ovulate 14 days prior to the start of your next menstrual cycle. This means, then, that if you have a 28-day cycle, you will ovulate roughly 14 days after your period, and 14 days prior to the start of your next period

I am tri-cycling my BCP. So I receive three packs at one time and instead of using the placebo pills each month, I only take the week of sugar pills at the end of three packs. I skip over the first two sugar pill weeks in the first two packs. How would this affect ovulation?

Thank you for your response!

It's very, very unlikely that you're pregnant. You've been taking your birth control pills, which prevent the release of an egg, and thicken the mucous in your uterus and surrounding the egg, which ultimately protects you from pregnancy. You haven't missed one in over a month, so the pills have regulated their hormone release again.

Additionally, since you used your birth control as your own "Plan B" pill, that should completely prevent you from getting pregnant.

Don't worry, everything will be fine :) Hope this helped!

I just thought I would add that my partner did ejaculate his entire load inside of me. In my paranoid mind, this is an increased cause for concern. I have been quite stressed the past couple days, to the point of arguing with family members who are sick. If someone could shed more light on the situation and possibility of pregnancy, I would greatly appreciate it!
