My mother-in-law has Charcot-Marie-Tooth and can hardly walk. She had 4 children and one of her children has her same illness...the others do not appear to have any symptoms. Could my husband be a carrier of this illness even though he has no symptoms? We have 2 children.....should I take them to a neurologist? Should I be concerned that they will get this?
Your husband could be a carrier, he could also have CMT, as many people are affected differently, some even so midly, others severe, and inbetween, depending on the family's genetics. If you are concerned about your children's inheritance pattern, by all means, have them checked and tested by a Neurologist.
