I am a 19 year old female (120lbs)..relatively healthy. I was recently at my OB/GYN and the nurse informed me of my heart "skipping beats" and advised me to see my general physician. For years now I have had stabbing chest pains right where my heart is, throbbing, breath taking pain. The pain only lasts about 20 seconds, and doesn't happen all the time, Once a month at MOST. I have also noticed in the past that my heart seems to go from a rapid rate to a slow rate, but I was never alarmed enough to seek a doctor. I become light headed from time to time, and I frequently have to take in deep breaths. This morning I woke up with a rapid heart beat that nearly made breathing difficult. My blood pressure was 149/98, and the pulse rate was 118...Hours later my heart rate seems to remain above normal, but my BP has stabilized. I have never had high blood pressure in the past (although it does run in the family). I never realized these symptoms could be due to a heart issue, I always blaimed them on less severe problems such as possible anemia, stress. I have an appoinhtment on Tuesday (4/3). I'm just worried since this morning, I feel my heart beating and I feel like my oxygen level is low, its somewhat overwhelming and tiring. I've done research and it seems as though this could possibly be PVC..or could it be somemthing else? I would appreciatte any input or similiar experiences!!
THNK YOU!!
