Im 23 years old. I started drinking 6-7 times a week about two years ago. I just realized my random chest pains might not be so random. I feel like im 35. I think its time to stop drinking.

I had the same problem too. Pain in the left side of the neck, chest pain and a bit of left arm pain too. I even had tachycardia and very strong heart beats. I had an exam and found out my heart and blood pressure were completely normal. I'm not sure if it's an ulcer or an esophageal disease, but it's only triggered by alcohol and comes along with nausea and loss of appetite. I know a person who had the same heart attack symptoms and it turned out to be GERD caused by alcohol. The doctors gave him valium and other drugs and told him if he continues drinking he'll die.

I'm 33 years old and have been binge drinking and smoking since I was 20.

I'm a binge drinker, meaning I go out on a Friday and Sometimes a Saturday and drink about 8 - 10 pints of lager. Sometimes I do shots although not often because I've had some bad nights on them. During the week I'm tea total.

Recently I've been getting chest pains and waking up the next day thinking that I'm so hungover I feel like I could die, it's like my body was trying to tell me something wasn't right. My memory seems to be really bad and on hangover days I get sleep paralysis. I don't know if this is alcohol related or just due to aging.

I've since quit the fags and changed my diet to include fruit and veg, 5 times a day, every day. This was 2 weeks ago. The heart pain comes and go's but I feel it's getting better. I'm hoping that I've caught it in time, so to speak.

Been there. Thought it was indigestion but turned out to be blocked arteries which required a triple bypass. What you are experiencing is a mini heart attack. You really must go and get help otherwise you may not live to tell the tail. This is serious serious stuff.

I would like a professional opinion. I am 21, not over weight and in decent condition. I have been experience sharp shooting pains in my lower left rib cage, guessing its my heart. Also experiencing sharp pains in my left shouler, elbow, and sometimes numbness in middle and ring finger. This happens occasionally throughout the day about 5 days a week, especially after a heavy night of drinking it will occur typically the entire day and sometimes the next day. I drink heavely about 1-2 days a week. My heart was fine until i experienced a freaky inciident with two much adderall and barely any sleep while studying for finals. my heart was racing throught the roof and was taken to the hospal. my mom is a worry freak and had the doctors do plenty of test and everything came back normal. ever since this incident my heart rate is fine except occasional rapid beating, why is this? and ever since this incident i have started experiencing the sharp pains i have descirbed above. i use to run and workout everyday but have stoped within the last year. can someone please give me some decent advice. it is really beginning to worry me and i dont want to go back to the doctor because they said everything was fine. thanks

You really must go back to the Doc and explain your situation. You are in a bad way. Go today before it's to late.

I have had that exact problem since I had my very first drink at 19. It starts anywhere within 15 min of drinking and last around 40 minutes. The pain is severe. I don't know a single doctor that knows what the problem is. Their answer is always "then don't drink". A real party-killer. I would just love to know how to prevent it so I can enjoy an occasional drink now and then.

I asked my doctor about this.  She instantly put me through a series of tests.  This is actually an old school test for hodgekin's lymphoma.  The ingestion of alcohol will cause the affected lymphnodes to act up.  They found nothing in my last set of blood work, but this only recently started for me and I drink maybe once every six months.  Hope this helps. So far I am not testing positive, but my doctor is monitoring me for any other signs that would prompt another test

Angina.... It's a tightness around the heart and upper respiratory region. It triggers in folks who may have heart disease, high blood pressure, high Cholesterol, anemia or any other issues with their blood. Control your blood levels or make sure you take an aspirin before drinking alcohol and drink plenty of water. I hope this helps. I've had issues with it for almost 2 years and went to the doctor to find out I was anemic.. Drink responsibly and take care! :-)
