My son is 8 years old and 3 days ago I’ve noticed that he had rash on his stomach and arms. That rash has spread since than and now covers all his body. Is it chickenpox? I mean, he goes to school and told me 3 weeks ago that few kids were absent from school because of this disease. How long does it take from exposure to chicken pox virus to development of rash?
It usually takes 2-3 weeks. So it is possible that your son has chicken pox. My both kids had it 6 months ago. They had rash, but also sore throat and mild fever. That lasted for about 7-10 days. I thought that it would be better for them to stay at home for several days more, and didn’t let them go to school. Also, I didn’t give them any medications during had rash. But why don’t you check it first with paediatrician? It does not have to mean that your son has chickenpox just because of that rash.
