hi about a year and a half ago i found out i had chlymidia , i was wondering if there was any possible way to find out if i could still have children?
You never told us if you had it treated with antibiotics and removed bacteria from the body. Chlamydia will not necessarily cause infertility but it might if it hasn’t been eradicated from the body in a long time. The way it does it, is that it could move to the Fallopian tubes and cause scars that may prevent egg from reaching endometrium.

Chlamydia is actually easily treated and all it takes is a course of antibiotics to get it out of your system. However, if your partner has been infected as well, he may need a treatment as well, otherwise he could pass it back to you.

The only way to know if you are experiencing problems is to have it checked with your gynecologist.

So, in conclusion, being infected with this bacterium, will not necessarily leave you infertile.

Hi, I am new to this forum, but my future fertility concern over my diagnosis of Chlamydia 4 years ago is constantly with me. I do not know how long I had it for, at a guess I'd say 18 months max - I was in a long term relationship and remember getting tested about 18 months before the diagnosis, which came back clear - however I know tests from a few years ago were not as accurate as they are today.

I feel the only way to rest my mind, or answer my question is to have a laporoscomy - Jenny, you said miss.s could speak to her gynecologist - could he recommed this? I am 26, and not ready finacially to have a baby and still studying, and am only in a new relationship, and doctors have told me I will have to wait until I start trying for a baby - but this worry is taking over and I need to know!

Anyone out there with any advice/personal experience of this?

Thanks xx
