I have the clicking too! Though I have noticed that here is a spot in my throat that if I push it I feel something move and then the clicking goes away, until that part moves over again. It's so frustrating! I've never had this problem and it's like it just hit me all of a sudden the other night from out of no where.

I found the reason for my throat problems were from coughing up too much phlegm. I had a habit of always trying to clear out my lungs and over time it wore down my throat. I thought I had a serious problem because of the popping in my throat when i swallowed. I went to the doctor and they could not figure out what was causing it. I had to figure it out on my own. I just started swallowing my phlegm instead of coughing it up which I know sounds disgusting, but as soon as I quit coughing that stuff up my throat got better within a day or two. It had been bothering me for well over a year. I obviously am a smoker but have been trying to switch over to vaping. So if you smoke and cough a lot of stuff up and your throat hurts and pops when you swallow, quit coughing stuff up. Hope this helps someone. I was convinced I was dying at one point from throat cancer it was so bad for me.

I have been having the same problem for about 4 days. It started all of a sudden. I think I was trying to cough up a sunflower seed that I swallowed and after that I noticed the clicking sound. The first thing I thought was that I have throat cancer or something bad. I have a Dr appointment in a few days because it is really scaring me. When I turn my head to the right or the left I can not feel it, only when I am facing forward. I am also having some ear pain too. I do not know if it's related. I will make sure I post an update.

27 yr male- no chronic conditions, etc. strong immune system rarely sick

Had a sudden onset of labored swallowing that dissipated into the infamous Adam's apple clicking

Tried NSAIDs, airborne and others to see if it was inflammation or simply passing sickness -marginal relief

I have a thin build with a long neck (32 inch waist , 5'10)

Found laryngeal stretches helped curb the clicking but rubbing BIOFREEZE (menthol muscle relaxant -like icy hot) on my neck(front of neck too) did WONDERS

Suspect my clicking is due to neck tension (my long neck) but may get a fiber optic scoping done because I used to smoke marijuana

I've had this for some time now.  Not more than a year.  I've searched around the net and keep seeing anxiety and acid reflux.  Well I don't have none of those.  I'm pretty sure I know the cause of mine.  It probably stemmed from my singing.  I'm probably doing some of it wrong, but I'm always screaming all my favorite rock songs when I karaoke.  I did notice the past year or two I have uncontrollable cracking in my voice when I sing.  I would even sing when I had a sore throat.  Every time I had a sore throat I noticed when my throat finally healed back to normal my singing degraded.  These past months I started getting that clicking when I swallowed.  I've never had that before.  If I push on my throat and move it side to side I feel a lot of the clicking going on.  It doesn't hurt.  Just uncomfortable.  I figure it's scar tissue, cartlidge, or calcium build up that's clashing against each other.  Is there a way to remove it?  I assume a neck specialist.  So is my theory possible?  Is this something that has happen to other people who screams their songs?

For all out there experiencing this, maybe this will calm your fears. I started having all the same symptoms of the clicking in my throat when swallowing suddenly one day. I panicked. I thought the worst and had all kinds of tests done to include a barium swallow, endoscopy, swollen lymph node removed, you name it. All tests came back showing no signs of any problems. That was 12 years ago in 2004 and I'm still here today with the same clicking sensation living a completely healthy life raising 4 sons. Was it annoying? Helllll yes. It still is, but I've learned to just live with it. But it wasn't the death sentence I originally feared as I'm proof here 12 years later doing fine.

I have experienced this in the last 24 hours. It feels as If a bone is clicking in my throat. It does not hurt me the feeling and sound is just very uncomfterble for me personally. I went to doctor thinking I had tonsillitis but I didn't. I did not mention the clicking at the time because in the hour it seemed to have dispeared. Does anybody have any adavice on the situation? Replays are greatly appreciated.
