Clicking in throat when swallowing. I’ve been experiencing this for 3 weeks. Woke up one morning and it just started. Was extremely stressed the preceding weeks. It’s on the right side of the Adam’s apple and feels like someone is flicking you with their finger in the throat when you swallow. Usually doesn’t happen when eating or drinking. There is no pain associated with it. The only thing that comes up online is clicking hyoid.  Anyone experience anything like this? Anyone resolve this? I only see old discussion forums online need some updates.

Hi, you are not alone with this condition. In addition to clicking sensation, I am having a slightly minty taste at back of my tongue on the side of the affected throat. I had a CT scan done, flexible scope place down my throat several times in a year but thankfully everything looks ok. I have an elongated styloid process ( eagle syndrome) but he did mention that he has seen longer styloid process not causing symptoms .  I spoke to ENT about surgery to trim any additional cartilage, he told me the risk outweigh the benefits as there are many nerves in the region. In case the surgery goes wrong I have more to lose. He told me to monitor the situation, if it becomes worse in terms of swallowing, then consider surgery.
