Very interesting article. I had no idea women nowadays are so concerned about how they looked "down there". I always learned something new every time I logged onto this website.
i think this article was very useful saying both sides of the argument. it kinda makes me sad that the natural process of aging is unattractive to so many people that girls feel the need to get cosmetic surgery. at the same time i can see why people would go to it while feeling insecure. if it improves the sex life of the couple then i have no problem with it, however if its purely looks the woman is after then i can easily see her becoming a sex item.

heya, ive have this problem ive been single for 2 years and too insecure to have a bofriend or let anyone any where near my vagina, ive booked a doctors appointment for next week, and have a feeling they are not going to elt me have it done on the nhs, i would like to find out how much it cost too have it done... i hate feeling like this its my wrecking my life i feel lonely.... please can someone give me the info that i need please

Since my previous post I have had the operation and would now like to advise others in the same position. Firstly if your GP doesnt think you need a labiaplasty then you probably don't NEED one, its more of a want. But none the less I know how it eats you away inside and you feel like this operation will transform your love life. However your lips will defintly be assymetrical after the op even if they were symmetrical before, colour may look funny, hardening on a lip is common and be prepared for blood loss. I found the aftercare on the NHS very poor.
So the next step would be to ask your doctor where you can have this done privatley, as they can tell you who is registered with the medical council etc. Also look for surgeons who have appeared in big name main stream productions. For example Embarassing illnesses has shown this operation twice and My Perfect Vagina was a feature 1hr length doc on the operation. I remember one excellent lady surgeon featuring on Embarassing Ilnesses who performed the best job I'd ever seen and she is based in London.
Good luck, if you anymore questions just ask. BUT remember, this operations have many risks otherwise you may learn the hard way like I did .....
