My mother is taking atenolol for high blood pressure for months. Now she has very strong headache and she is thinking to use drug called metoprolol. She heard that is effective for migraine. I’m not sure that it’s a good idea. Does anybody know consequences of taking atenolol and metoprolol at the same time?
Atenolol and metoprolol are the drugs that belong to the same kind of drugs. They are beta-blockers and you can get them only with prescriptions. Never use two beta-blockers at the same time because you can overdose. If you think you have used too much of this medicine, seek emergency medical attention.
