This was my first one. They colonscopy showed nothing. He said he's going to talk to my insurance company about the special MRI, it's called MRCP, to make sure I can have it done. I have to schedule that tomorrow. If that shows nothing my GI said that he thinks it might be that my stomach doesn't process food properly and creates a gas in my stomach that causes the pain. He said that there's no cure becuase they don't know why it does it, but there are medications that I can take to help it. Hopefully I can get an answer soon. I'm going to go lay back down, I'm still feeling a little sick from the colonoscopy.
I have my MRI tomorrow. Hopefully this is the test that shows something, if not, i'm not sure what else they can do. I did a symptom checker and wrote down all the possible problems. I crossed off all the ones I know are not it and the ones I've been tested for. I'm going to show the list to my GI and see what he has to say.
Nothing showed up. So I guess they're done with me. They have nothing else to test, or anything to do.
Kate, if you're still in pain, can I suggest some new options for you?

Please, please google Steven H. Horne, Hiatal Hernia. I found him last week and took my 15 yo daughter to the chiropractor who fixed her in two mins and she is finally pain free after 14 months of extreme suffering. The gastroenterologist laughed at me and said it is jibber jabbish but my daughter is well. Hallelujah! Get to a chiropractor or massage therapist and have the stomach manipulated and the hernia moved by hand. He also suggests drinking 2c. of warm water (we used tea) the warm water relaxes the muscle and the weight of the water makes the stomach drop back into place. Stand on your tippy toes then drop to your heels. It's like rocking on your feet. Try it and see if it helps. I have my daughter do it each time she has a cup of tea just for good measure even though she is feeling fine. Its miraculous. I hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks.

I will look that up, thank you.
Before I got in the shower last night, I looked at myself in the mirror after I had taken my shirt off and I noticed that there is something different about the right side of my ribs. From losing all this weight you can see all of my ribs but the right side looks like there's something missing. My bottom right ribs hurt, and it was the same pain I was feeling on the side. It still hurts to eat in the upper center of my abdomen, so I really don't know. I have an appointment with my OBGYN, a therapist, and my GI this week, so maybe I can get some more ideas from atleast one of them.

Hi Kate
Sorry for the delayed reply - I've been away on a short holiday.
But now, some new options for you to get you out of pain:
There are a huge number of 'alternative' or 'complementary' treatments available for you to access. I'll go through the most popular ones:
- Functional medicine: This looks at why your organs aren't functioning properly, causing you pain. Often used by doctors who specialise in functional medicine, or naturopathic physicians. Google 'naturopath' or 'functional medicine' in your geographic area to see what's available. Often these practitioners focus on a particular modality; for instance, I focus on nutritional treatment.
- Homoeopathics. This is an energetic medicine, and quite effective, although only partially evidence based. Look for a homoeopath who is accredited with a professional association.
- Osteopathic or chiropractic treatment looks at how your spine might be misaligned, bringing on pain and discomfort. Osteopathics are my favourite for gentle effective investigation of musculoskeletal pain.
- Acupuncture has been used by the Chinese for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of health issues. Often an acupuncturist will use chinese herbs too. Again, use an accredited practitioner.
Hope this helps Kate - let us know how you go. The most important thing is to keep investigating until you find an answer, because there is an answer out there for you. Don't just "live with it".

My GI is done with me. He said he did everything he could do. My OBGYN wants to do exploratory surgery to check for adheasions, endometriosis, and gatrointestinal endometriosis. My umbilical hernia got worse, I had to take my belly button peircing out because it got so big. The pain isn't constant anymore. I just have pain after I eat.
My OBGYN wanted me to concentrate on when and where I feel lumps in my stomach. I noticed that the whole right side, from my uterus up to my ribs becomes hard and raised, and at the top of my abdomen when I have a little "poof" from the seperation of my abs gets hard and sticks out more. My umbilical hernia looks a lot worse when I lay down and all around it is hard.
I've been having more bowel movements, going atleast twice a day for the past week, so it's a sign of improvement, but I'm still getting lumps in my stomach and still having horrible pain after I eat.
I had to reschedule my OBGYN appt to next week because of all the snow we're supposed to get, so I'll know more then.
