the smoke forms in capsules, as it goes below the water surface. anything near the surface of this bubble helps capture hard particles, and it certainly takes the temp down on the smoke, however it doesnt filter the tar from the smoke that much. If you take a look at a water pipe, the portion above the water chamber, use it for a year, get it dirty, you will see what gets past the water, that goes into your lungs. Keep using the water pipe though for sure, never deviate, unless you move to a vaporizer. Its the healthiest thing you can do if you smoke. take it from a 28yr smoker.

Lol, I think what he means is, am I at serious health risk or is this normal given my activities. Which yes, it is. It's not good that tar/res is in your lungs, but its a given when you smoke. To each his own. The fact you are couging it up means that your lungs are cleaning themselves out. You will not die from the tar in your mucus, just listen to your body. If you're truly concerned, go see a doctor. But no, the fact you are coughing up mucus with black flecks in it does not mean you are dying

Let's say "Uncle Sam" your drug dealer hasn't dried the pot well enough before selling. He keeps his stash under his bed (or somewhere not cool enough) and it gets moldy. Smoke that and tell me it won't kill someone.
