Hi loved ur comment you seem to know ur sh*t, quick question so ya I smoke bud I recently got sick after not being sick for two years well now I'm spitting up the little black peices in my flem and also yellow sometimes brown from coughing too much . I barley smoke bud now cuss I'm still trying to recover how long should I be coughing this sh*t up before I should go to the doctor ? I didn't think it was an issue but it's already been a week and I'm still spitting stuff up and throats a little soar expecially when I swallow or drink . I have been smoking weed for years with no problems and then i moved to humbolt co in California and got pnemonia. I was really sick for months and ended uo in the hospital with a fever and streak in my lungs. and ever since i have been hacking up dark grey, almost green sometimes mucus, especially after smoking. Im worried i still have an infection but antibiotics have not worked. My plan is to quit smoking for a period of time and then go back to using a vape, because ive always had pretty sensative lungs so i should be more careful since both my grandmothers died of lung cancee, and one of them never smoked anything her whole life.

I have confidence in connecting dark brown/black flecks to combusting flower. I started an experiment with weed in 1967 and it will be stopping soon. About eight years ago, I noticed black flecks coming up in clear phlegm. Now it is brown phlegm with dark brown flecks. I suspect vaping concentrate is also coughed up by many; the concentrate is essentially heated oil on lung tissue. Oil ain't good for breathing.

All 3 of you are WRONG!!! Cigs & Weed have high aluminum in it this can cause black flem. The other cause can be fungal infection... this can be addressed by your doctor otherwise quit smoking & if you love Weed like I do drink it or eat it. The first few times it maybe difficult to get used to the dosage but so was smoking it!!! Peace out

I've had this problem for nearly 2 years. I eventually stoped smoking which in turn stoped the black coming out after about a year break. I've now started back smoking weed again and it's all coming back. I think it might even be worse then before. Sometimes it's like a jelly substance. I've had chest pain and shortness of breath but have been told by my doctor it's just muscle pain?
