I went to the urgent care yesterday for a suspected ear infection. By the time I got there, the infection had spread to my sinuses and I had the beginnings of tonsil8tis. They gave me a shot of antibiotics there because it was spreading at a rather alarming rate, and gave amoxicillan and antibiotic ear drops as well. I figured that with all the antibiotics pumped into my system, I'd be feeling at least a little better today, but no such luck. I got up this morning feeling like I had swallowed razor blades, my chest sounded like rice crispies, and i was coughing up large solid hunks of yellow-green phlem.. I don't know what is going on. I've only ever coughed anything like that up once before when I had pneumonia, but other than the cough, fever and mild chest pressure, I have no symptoms. I skipped my normal flu and pneumonia shots this year because they really don't cover all the strains we get here. I am immunodeficient so I'm getting constant infections in various systems, have been on antibiotics pretty much constantly since October. Is this cause for concern? Should I go back to the urgent care or ER?
