Hey man! Hope u are doing good after the transplant. I'm on 3rd month running after the transplant. I tried smoking little in white paper last week right before my blood test. And the next day the report came out perfect creatinine level was 1.4 , prograf was on perfect dose 3mg per am/pm.
So, I wouldn't suggest anyone but I'm just sharing my experience. Now I smoke little by little in my house. And sometimes with my brother. And I believe I'm in control but always keep track of the blood results. Make sure it's not effected.

I've had my kidney transplant for two years. I waited 2 months post-transplant and started smoking cannabis everyday. I feel great and my tests come back fine. Fungus is the only thing you have to be careful about. If you use a vaporizer you don't have to worry about fungus it all

I'm with you dude. I'm in the process of getting a kidney and love smoking weed but I don't feel it's worth the risk of losing the kidney or havin some other problems due to the rejection meds I will be taking

I was told the only thing the weed impacts is the tacro (prograf) level. Mine went up after I started smoking, so my transplant PA told me to cut down on the tacro in the morning. The level is fine now.

Check out your kidney function. If it is strong, shouldn't be an issue as I was just prescribed the synthetic version. After trying marijuana or whatever, check your functions again to make sure no negative effects.

Yes marijuana is perfectly safe for transplant patients. Do your research. Studi s have found that THC (the main ingredient in marijuana) actually helps to prevent the body from rejecting the transplanted organ. There are many many many health benefits in using marijuana. Do your research.

I’ve had 2 kidney transplants the last was in 99’ from my brother a perfect match. I smile a lot of marijuana started smoking in 92’ it’s the best medicine for nausea pain other side effects from the transplant meds

That's a scare tactic that's some transplant centers tell you about marijuana having an effect on the rejection medication. I can tell you 1st hand that's not true

That's simply not true. I didn't use marijuana for 3 months after my kidney transplant. Started using it in my 4th month and haven't stopped. There's been no change in my test results

You want some hardcore evidence? I had my kidney transplant in October of 2014. I stopped using marijuana for 3 months after the transplant. I started right up again in month four And my test results didn't change, my numbers are great, and I feel fantastic. Puff away and enjoy your life.

I am happy that you’ve had a successful three months with your transplant. I was very happy too but the Prograf was extremely horrible and made my life nearly as bad as doing home heModialysis. Just wait until you have taken these drugs for quite a number of years and you develop serious illness....and it will happen. The pain is intense. They do not prescribe hydrocodone as they once did. Just wait until you are confronted with serious agonizing pain and consider suicide is a possible solution. Tell me then what will be your opinion. Transplant drugs kill. They are poison. I’m not kidding. You can develop many serious diseases. Serious pain will accompany these life-threatening illnesses. What will you do then? Transplants are not necessarily all what they are cracked up to be. Many of us don’t make it. The drugs will kill, remember that. I know it is really wonderful in the beginning but in my case Prograf made my life unbearably difficult to live. I don’t care what doctors say. Most will not help you. That is unfortunately most commonly true wherever you live in the US. Most Medical people you ask for help think of themselves first. It’s a liability issue. Plain and simple liability issue for them. It’s really difficult to be a transplant patient. In the beginning maybe you were ecstatic but reality will soon hit. sorry to tell you this but it is true. I don’t care what doctors say. I will do whatever benefits me whether it’s legal or not. Because I have not been given any help and yet I am in agonizing pain I must look elsewhere for help.

Hey I'm a Pancreas transplant patience I got it 2 years ago and I live in Cali and it's legal here you can walk into a shop and buy what you want even infused THC food and I've been using and haven't had a problem maybe because since it's legal here now they go to the shops and test the marijuana for things but I use because I was diabetic since age two till I it got my transplant and I smoke for nausea and it helps take that away and helps me it and my transplant Dr's said any kind of smoke isn't good for ur lungs but there isn't any other harm that marijauna can do.
