first cover the basics such as drinking enough water and getting enough good oils your diet (flax oil is best).  these didn't fix my problem.  my skin would crack open and turn very very painful.  i tried savs and creams from drug stores that did nothing.  i then tried manuka honey.  then i tried a 2% tincture of iodine. this worked.  i had to apply it for over two months.  this killed off most of whatever was in my skin.  i then tried now foods fresh green black walnut wormwood complex applied tropically. wow, this killed off the rest.  i also recommend watching "monsters inside us" on youtube.

so to sum up:

iodine 2% tincture

now foods - fresh green black walnut wormwood complex

both applied to skin till cleared up

Try ozonated olive oil - I've seen that stuff work miracles on some of the toughest conditions. You can find it online (several different brands) or some specialty health stores. Sounds like you may have Scleroderma (common on fingertips face) and/or Raynauds - possible MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity).
Here's a particularly good Ozone Olive oil, in my opinion, and the data on it:
"Highly concentrated Ozone suspended in a high quality organic oil base using the best ozone generator in the market, cold corona discharge technology. This is the traditional "Ozonated Olive Oil" but with a difference, Extremely thick even at room temperature, evidence of the high ozone content, unlike thin or runny ozonated oils made from other manufactures. Ozonated Olive Oil are highly effective for healing bacteria infection, wounds, burns, insect bites, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, herpetic lesions, ulcers, onychomycosis- toenail fungus, jock itch, tinea corporis or pedis.

I suffer the same problem! whoa it's kinda cool to see I'm not alone! Mine always happens during the winter! So I want to say it is the cold. I spent a year in New Zealand last year, and the north island doesn't get very cold and I didn't experience this at all (the first year I hadn't experienced it in about 7 years!), it was pretty humid down there. I think it's the cold and dryness but not sure.

It usually occurs during winter but it's September and my hands already have the red glove...my symptoms are cracked red hands (purple during the winter) and bleeding at the knuckles. I have been washing my hands more though...my hands burn too. Do you think certain lotions will work? I have tried some of those directed for extremely dry hands, but not always successful.

I also agree that one should start considering internal health remedies, besides the external lotions.

You are my hero!!!! I have cracked, bleeding palms and fingers and after reading your post I realized all the bathing products I recently bought I am allergic to. I will stop using them as I used to use only glycerin soap, then thought I could use normal products like everyone else. Must accept our bodies the way they are. I am hypersensitive to stuff.....that's who I am. So, thanks so much for sharing. I look forward to normal hands soon.

Dear Mom,

Your daughter has allergies. Check her soaps and try using only glycerin to bathe her and as natural products as you can with her. My son had many allergies and is now 18. Do not despair. Also, wash her clothes with only no fragrance, no dye detergent. Check the playdough and finger paints. Use water, not oil-based products.

Hope this helps. Hang in there, Keep listening to her skin. Make sure bedding is cotton and she is kept cool, not sweaty, when she sleeps.

I've tried all the salve, bandage, hydration etc approaches to this problem with little or no success.  But I have finally found something that works for me.  I had a hunch that it was the dry, calloused layer of my finger's skin that was pulling the healthy skin underneath apart (I work outside all year round in construction-type conditions).  I started exfoliating my fingers with 220 sandpaper and my problem was almost immediately solved.  I know what a drag this condition is, so I hope this idea helps someone.

My wife has had this problem with her hands. The doc didn't know what to tell her as the doc had the same problem and didn't know how to heal herself. My wife found cell salts. These started helping the the pain and healing the next day. Do your research online. Only certain cell salts are for this remedy. Its been a couple weeks and they are still healing. The cell salts seem to help the blood circulation to progress the healing of new skin.

My father is suffering with same condition. Tried and tested everything. Petroleum Jelly seems to helped heal to an extent recently but the condition re-appeared after using it for more than 4 months now. I am also trying to figure out any relief to him from this problem. Done skin test and allergy tests too. Does not seems any allergy or something. Please post me in case someone has a permanent solution.
