I posted over a month ago (I'm the one who went on the FODMAP diet) and I just wanted to come back and tell you, for the benefit of future readers, that this went away completely for me at about 8 weeks!! It was like a miracle - it just stopped completely. I'm 14 weeks now and I haven't had this pain once since then. I've had the normal pains of pregnancy but not this crazy severe pain. So please take heart if you're suffering this.
By the way, if the pain is relieved by passing gas or having a bowel movement, then it's probably digestive and if you can prevent constipation that will help. My pain was not relieved by either of those things, so I'm relieved that it just disappeared on its own.

5 weeks along- exactly same thing for the past week! Sharp at 2:45AM about 4hrs into the night, severe cramps last about an hour, then go away. Feels like menstrual cramps, no bleeding. Glad to hear I'm not the only one!!

Been having these pains too and i just found out im approx 4 weeks.
Really bad period like cramps that makes me feel sick/sweat. But only really come in evening abd during night. And are especially worse if i need to poo or pee!
Yesterday, i drank heaps of water, more than usual and had no cramps lastnight. Hopefully same happens from now on as they are horrible

Check with your doctor to find out if it is safe to use heating pads during pregnancy... I believe it is not, as it may raise your body temperature, which can be teratogenic.

I am 6 weeks along. I could not sleep because I was in so much pain. The cramps were intense. I got into a hot bath and that seemed to help a lot.

I just came across this forum and I am so relieved that others are going through the same thing. I am 5 weeks 4 days and for the past week I have woken up in excruciating pain--like extreme menstrual pains. I run to the bathroom and end up lying on the floor in agony for the 20 or so minutes it takes to pass. It has happened now 3 separate nights and twice in the middle of the day. I've been trying to come up with a better description of the pain. I think it is a burning, cramping sensation very low under my belly button. I cripple over in pain and am unable to find any position that gives me relief. The past two times I got into a warm bath with Epsom salt and it helped a little.
My doctor says it is just stretching pains but oh my god it feels sooooo much more severe than "just" stretching pains.

I will be very grateful if anybody could help me out. i was pregnant thrice. for all the pregnancies i had same symptoms. i use to have severe pain around 1:30pm to 3 pm. it is worst pain i get this everyday and finally it stops slowly meanwhile doctor would say there is no hearbeat or no fetal growth. All my reports are normal and i dont know y i get this terrible pain only during pregnancy. i can see almost same situation in this discussion form. Can any one give me a solution. i am scared to get pregnant again.

Pls help I have same symptoms followed by miscarriage thrice. I get pain only when I am pregnant it goes up to 6weeks and doc says there is no growth.
