I just got my results from a CT abdomen/pelvis scan due to recent persistent and progressive left sided pain radiating to the lower back, after a total hysterectomy. Results read: Slight dilatation of the pancreatic duct and the distal common bile duct near the ampulla of vater. No choledocholithiasis. Recommend ERCP. No findings of gallstones, liver, spleen, pancreas, adrenal glands, kidneys, ureters, bladder appear normal, no pelvic mass present. Opacified bowel loops appear normal, no pathologc adenopathy in the abdomen/pelvis, no evidence of ascites. Images thru lung bases demonstrate no significant findings. What does this all mean? My GP couldn't explain, she just read the results to me and recommend me to do a followup ERCP.

Hi
I am scheduled tomorrow for an abdominal and pelvic CT scan with both oral and iv contrast. I had an abdominal ultrasound last Friday and was contacted by the doctor's office that same day that there was an incidental finding in my kidneys and they want to check it out. The nurse said it's probably benign but they want to make sure. That's all the info I was giving. I have been having issues ----really for the last two years but more so since January of this year. I thought it was thyroid related as I have had to go on medication for that back in December of 2007. I have gained about 20 pounds since this January and am not eating very much at all, distended and bloated abdomen, feeling of fullness all the time---so that is why I am unable to eat very much-----and when I do eat my abdomen just bloats more no matter what it is that I eat. I look like I'm about 6 months pregnant. My abdomen is tender and I feel like I'm carrying around a bunch of lead in my stomach. I feel fatigued and like I'm dragging myself around. I work during the week----so on weekends I just rest alot. I had been trying to walk about 12 to 15 miles per week but for the last 3 to 4 weeks my stomach has really been bothering me so I haven't. Does anyone out there have any of these issues? I guess I'll find out soon enough hopefully from the results of my CT scan?

Oh wow I just read your post. Kind of sounded like me. My doctor found a mass on my only kidney and said it might be a stone told me it was 7 mmbin size I went on a website to study. Your symptoms r advanced how long have u had those. I read all. About kidney cancer you have most of those symptoms. Do u have fevers also ? The problem is kidney cancer symptoms are not noticeble in early stages and r often over looked by doctors

I just got out of the Hospital and the pain that I had in the left side that went around to my back turned out to be what's call diverticulitis. It's a colon disorder. Might look at that for anyone else why has these symptoms.

Hi, I had and still have the same abdominal pain in my left side. The pain was so bad on Wednesday that I had to go to the Emergency. I diagnosed myself as a problem in the Sigmoid Colon but the doctor was sceptical and ordered a CT Scan. The scan did not show anything wrong and the doctor kind of agreed with me and suggested to do a colonoscopy and see a GI doctor. You may look into it too.

Before the pain I went to the bathroom 3 time that morning. my large intestine had a block on the left side. when I had lunch the pain start. After 3 hour in pain I call to be taken to the Joshua Tree Hi Desert medical Center in California. It was a night-mare. The nurse did not write the report right, because they ask if I was at the hospital before I said yes for kidney stone. I was in pain the ambulance people shot me up with morphine that kill the pain. Did not see the Doctor but got a bill from one. The nurse then wanted to take picture Ct Abdomen an CT Pelvis. Then the hospital nurse found out that i had no insurance I time them with in 10 to 15 minutes release me  first they move me out to the hall and turn off drip then they give me pain medication for one week an said to me the ct shows a small stone and u will pass it in a few days. The night mare begone 3 days in pain could not eat or drink because every time I would eat or drink water the pain would double. On Thur went to Loma Linda hospital there got to talk with a Doctor told him the same think I told the nurse at Hi-desert Medical Center. That I could not eat for 3 day He said to stop the medication and pick up stool soft-ner pharmacy. In 12 hour I was able to eat and drink water and went to the bathroom. I have hemorrhoid when i was on the pain medication my large intestine was trying to discharge the blockage. I learn that i could have die. from a intestine  break.

I had a lot of your symptoms was diagnosed with gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach), could only eat a few bites and then was full or couldn't eat at all, had nauseau, pain in stomach, bloated stomach, lots of belching. They did a gastric emptying test to diagnose the problem. See a GI doctor, the only difference is I went from 138 lbs. down to 93 lbs. and can't gain the weight back.

Good Luck, I hope they find the problem.

I have a heart murmur and I'm going to have the same test as all of you have had. I just don't get it. But my father had the same type of murmur.  He also had diabetes, blood pressure, and the murmur.  This murmur was due to a valve not working.  He died of it and the doctor did not do the tests until much too late. But I don't get why this test will help me?

The mighty dollar rules most all the doctors and hospitals these days, a real shame...
