I have exactly the same problem, my skin split after falling down the stairs and bruising my cosix bone, i have tried in vane to repair the tear, on seeing my doctor he has given me clotrimisole cream and told me the tear will repair once the bruising and swelling goes down on my tailbone, It is so painfull at night he advised pain killers, should take about a week to repair.

Hey! I don't know if you got your lump checked out but it sounds to me like you are having what I had, a pilonidal cyst. I got it two times and never thought anything of it as it came and went on its own. It's actually very important that you get it drained. It's pus filled and the pus can actually damage the surrounding tissue and the bacteria in the pus can spread. Mine burst and became infected. I went to a local walk in clinic to get it drained (pain was unbearable and I had a fever) and they referred me to the Emergency Room because it was too large and they weren't properly equipped for the procedure. All in all, the doctor that drained it for me said that the pus ate about two inches into my skin and now he recommends surgery. I figured, all of this could have been avoided if I treated it at first sign. I do hope this helps you out some. If you get it again, do a sitz bath. You can purchase it at Walmart and do it for 20 mins 3x a day...that will probably help you. Good luck!

Yup, I have the same problem with the cracked skin right over the tail bone. From looking at other sites I actually think it could be something fungal. This would explain why just keeping it really clean is not helping at all. I'm going to try a cream for jock itch and see if it helps. But I am not itchy down there, so we will see. Also if it is fungal it should be kept very very dry with gold bond powder or something like that.

I also canot figure out what the cut is all about, but think the lump is a pile, very easy to get rid of in the early stages, u just need to get cream, and it occurs from pressure down there. A pile starts inside ur anus nd moves down till it is on the outside of your anus, then it will hurt even when sitting. Just research it on google. Easy to treat, but if left too long could need to be cut out.
