A cyst on the tip of the tailbone. It sends shoots out that show up on the inside of your butt cheeks when it blows up -- it looks like bruises, hurts, but the discoloration is actually pus from the cyst... Hurts like hell to sit... Needs to be surgically removed.

One thing for sure is to not wash to hard in that area and use a sponge not normal washcloth, and keep it dry by pkeeping a soft Kleenex like Puff's inside your cheeks, change it 3-4 times throughout the day. I don't recommend putting to much else, moisture keeps it from healing.

I used Canestène, fucicort, Lotriderm ( contains clotrimazole) all was useless but, i also used Lamisil Spray (not Once) but it irritated my skin. Will Lamisil Once you referred to is different than the spray? Is it Cream like? Should i be using it once even if i pee a lot and i wash the area frequently? Please help me!

So I have this same vertical cut at the top of bottom in between the cheeks. Immense pain when I touch it. It's happened to me a few times. Did a bit of research online and I think it's to do with the area being wet for a long period of time from water or sweat being trapped there. The moisture starts to break down the skin and leaves it raw. (It's been ridiculously hot lately and the air con at work in the kitchen has stopped working so I'm sweating a lot. It matches up) They say to just keep the area dry, use baby powder, and it will go away.

It's a pilionil cyst, i am just getting one, my twin brother has had multiple sugeries in how in which you could fit a pop can in! The surgery must be done correctly or it will become much worse than before the surgery!!

actually pilonidal cysts are much worse. You'll have trouble walking, sitting and sleeping. However this could potentially start a pilonidal cyst. I had one two years ago and had to get it surgically removed. Now the "cut" seems to be back and I'm trying to figure out how to heal it. I'd recommend everyone to keep the area as clean a possible to prevent an infection!

It is likely an abscess. Seek medical attention immediately, or it will only continue to grow. I speak from experience. It is miserable if you wait too long. The have to lance it and drain the fluid out. Sooner is better than later. I had 2 nurses holding me down and the doctor spreading my cheeks to correct it.

Hey everyone I've had the same split, seemed to me like there was a seam that wouldn't close. Anyway went to the doctor it's a fungal infection likely due to the consistent moisture there. They gave me clotrimazole cream it's an antifungal. Whenever it comes back I just use more. Works for me!

Second reply, there are two separate conditions being spoken about on here,i don't know anything about the lumps, my condition does not have that. Well unless you consider your tailbone a lump. Either way any antifungal should work.

I have the EXACTLY same symptoms and it comes and goes. I did some research of my own and it could possibly be a yeast infection. actually common in that area due to the warm moist regin. I read you can obtain relief by using a topical yeast cream. I have not tried this yet. however I do also get relief by using a hydrocortisone topical cream. I had that handy so I tried it and it will provide relief. however I think the yeast cream will be a more permanent soultion. keep area clean and dry as possible. I absolutely would try the yeast cream as soon as possible. until you can obtain the yeast cream, hydrocortisone cream will provide a temporary relief. long term, yeast cream is the answer. do some research of your own and I think you will agree. best of luck and I do hope this helps. sorry you have to deal with this. I understand how painful it can be. good luck.
