Hello all! My husband has been prescribed Cyproterone hormone therapy for his prostate cancer. You see, he is a very strong person and even when he found out about the sickness his mood did not change. However, ever since he has been getting this hormonal therapy, his mood has been so low and he is very lethargic. Another thing is that he has no sexual desire which I may understand considering his current health but all the changes happened when he started taking Cyproterone. I would like to know if it is possible for this drug to cause such effects or is my husband changing be4acuse of the sickness or maybe lower self esteem!
Hi there! Don’t worry; cypresterone is known to cause low moods. When ever patients get off the drug, they go back to what they used to be. Low libido and other sexual dysfunction are rare with this drug but not impossible. I don’t know what other advice to give you but to be supportive and don’t let him sink. Good luck!
