Honestly i HATE pain but you gotta think of long term. If you dont have it drained it will get worse with pain and could spread! im in the process
right now with getting my "dressing change" So what they do is have your arm up, have someone hold ur arm down because the needle (freezing)
REALLY hurts its only for about 30 seconds i say.. just cry scream squeeze someones hand. Thats what i do atleast. After the freezing they will cut
apart of it open to let it drain which you wont feel them cut you thats why they have to freeze that section. The dr will then try squeezing the area
to push more out as much as he/she can. Then all he does is puts string in it to keep the wound closed so you dont get an infection and make sure
you take your anitbiotics. You will then have to have it changed everyday or every other day depending which hurts a bit but i found a good nurse
who is VERY gentle with me. you will feel pinching a bit and pressure. It will start to heal and close slowly. Once your cut it almost closed they wont
package it anymore. Mine is half way closed so may need one more package and im done. DO NOT SHAVE THAT AREA FOR A COUPLE WEEKS
UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO THROUGH IT AGAIN! This is my second time though last time was only a boil which they drained and that was it but i
think because they didnt package it, made this cyst happen. HOPE THAT HELPS! ALSO ONE MORE THING, I BROKE OUT IN A RASH DUE TO THE
TAPE NOT SURE WHICH TAPE BECAUSE THEY HAVE USED EVERY TAPE ON ME SO TELL THEM NOT TO USE SO MUCH TAPE BECAUSE YOUR GUNNA
END UP CHANGING THE GAUZE THAT GOES OVER YOUR WOUND AND RIPPING THE TAPE ON AND OFF AND NOT BEING ABLE TO CLEAN THAT AREA
TO MUCH WILL CREATE A RASH AND IRRIATATE THE SKIN. IM STILL WAITIN TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS CAUSED BY MY SWEAT GLANDS OR
INGROWN HAIR. GOOD LUCK!!

Hello everybody. I have several cysts. I only had surgery for 2 of them. My doctor seemed really picky of which to remove. The doctor wouldn't remove the one in the armpit because the doctor was afraid that it wouldn't heal properly due to the armpit sweating, also wouldn't remove the one on my neck because it was too small. I also have ones in my shoulder/arm. The ones that were taken out was this bad one on my back which went to the size of a marble, it was so deep in my skin that I had to have it drained before taken out. There was one on my pelvis which I was able to pop but every several months kept coming back, so I had an excision done on the 2 cysts. The one on the back hurts a little bit but I'm feeling no pain on the pelvis, I'm getting stitches removed tomorrow.

I am experiencing the same thing that has happened to you .I mean exactly the same...And moreover because I am obese with BMI of 35 ....I've a strong feeling that this obesity might be the problem or maybe because of excessive internal heat of the body which causes instability...I am not sure ...

Believe me it is not from being obese. What the docs aren't tell you is that these systs are really abseses which comes from your body fighting an infection. That's the reason they give you the antibotics, You should ask the doctor to draw a CBC with a diff and check your white blood count. Then you should also have them check for staph and MRSA.

Hi, a few years ago I wrote on this complaining of recurrent, swollen cysts under my arms.
I wanted to say I heve been diagnosed with hydraadenitis supportiva
I asked to be referred to the dermatologist and have been told that my problem has been poorly managed for years, 11years! The treatment for this condition is to have antibiotics non stop for about a year.
I did 6 months and noticed a massive improvement.
I wish everyone the best with getting to the bottom of what is going on.
