what is the size of the cyst? Does he has only one or more than one? If it is small and does not cause symptoms, it is ok to fly.

Normally speaking, may be it is okay for him to fly. But you'd better consider the rupture of the cyst. If the cyst in his kidney was already pretty large, then it is much danagerous than small one. How long did your hunsband get it? I strongly suggest him go get some tests just for sure. There's no need to take chances of your life security.
