I think we all can agree it is YAZ that is the problem. I forget to take my pills alot and I have to take 2 or 3 in a day sometimes. The brown mudlike substance came out and it makes me itchy sometimes. I hope this goes away. :(
I recently have been put on birth control and this is my first month taking it (YAZ) I have yet to have my period this month and i usually have it around the 20th of each month, but since i've started birth control , the pills say i'll have it at the beginning of the following month, so i will not be having my period this month. And pretty much all month i have been having a brown, non odour, discharge in my underwear and today it has been chocolate brown, and there was a lot. I had unprotected sex 3 and a half weeks ago for the first time and the last time. any suggestions? am i pregnant?
I am having the same problem and I'm scared! I had sex on May 4th, I had just gotten over my period. I am on YAZ or Zarah the off-brand and was off it for a month, but got back on it. I had been taking it every day before the sex. We messed around a bit before he put the condom on...he did not cum inside of me. Like the next day I started spotting this dark brown blood, its been going on ever since and sometimes after I pee its a pink color. I have to wear a small pantyliner and sometimes there are clots. I am supposed to start my period in this week and now I'm scared that I may be pregnant. Plus my breasts have been tender and I have slight cramps at times. Google scares the hell out of me. All I keep reading are things about implantation bleeding...HELP!
i'm on yaz too, and about two weeks after my period i started having really really dark discharge. i dont know why it could be happenening, it never has before and its very worrisome.

I'm on the daily birth control and the past two months, for the week that I'm supposed to get my period the blood is black or dark brown. And very light. I've had unprotected sex about two times in the past 3 months, but I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. What's wrong?
wow im so glad i found this and im not the only one. i am 21 just started Aviane BC 6 months ago and just started having sex 3 months ago. going into my third month of BC i got my period a week early and it was more just dark brown discharge for two weeks. i assumed it was cuz of the bc so i didnt think to much about it cuz i hadnt had sex yet and it was near my normal period but this month i got this same dark brown discharge and it i was exactly a week after ovulation so i started to panic thinking maybe implantation bleeding but after it lasted four days i figured it had to be something else and the consensus seems to be its just the birth control which makes me feel a whole lot better. although yes it totally kills the mood :( hope this ends soon and doesn't happen again!
I have just started birthcontrol a few months ago for the first time in my life. Although I'm married, have one child and would love to have another, I'm on it to try to control my PCOS symptoms along with Metformin. I've had this discharge problem since I started. I told my gyn. at my follow up and she said that it could be a side affect or it could be the birthcontrol showing an underline problem that I normally won't see. She gave me a new birthcontrol. I start it Sunday. If it continues once I start the new birthcontrol she wants to do a saline ultrasound. It's something you definitely need to talk to your doctor about. You never know and it's better to be safe then sorry.
Hi, im 22 years old, and recently had sex. Long story short, we had an accident when the condom slipped, so I went and took the morning after pill about 28 hours later. The pill is called "Gynotrel 2". It was one pill, then the second one 12 hours later. This was on the monday, I had had my period 2 weeks previous, and I am not due on for another 2 weeks. On the friday of that week, i had some brown discharge, and then bleeding with back pains...which I am presuming is my period (due to the morning after pill). Its now been 5 days and the last two days i have noticed brown smudgy discharge in my knickers (only in a morning though).
This is the first time I have used emergency contraception and its the first time I have seen/ heard of this discharge and I haven't got a clue what it is/ means....Is it a side effect of the emergency contraception? I haven't had nausea symptom or tiredness, but I have been so worried to the point of wanting to be physically sick, and I am constantly stressing/ thinking about what is going on....will it pass?

I have been taking YAZ for going on 6 months now. My boyfriend and I had sex 12/21/11 and I had my period 12/12/11-12/14/11. After sex I had slight bleeding that my gyno said was from being not being sexually active for a while. I have been getting brown spotting too which is driving me crazy because I hope I am not pregnant. I just had a papsmear done and she said everything was fine. I don't think I am pregnant but I have heard brown spotting could mean pregnancy. I am a little confused like you since I am two days late.

I started my period at the beginning of this month and began taking Ortho-Cyclen (Sprintec) just a couple days after. Although my doctor recommended I take them on the Sunday after my period started, I forgot and ended up taking them on Monday. Can't imagine it making a huge difference, but.. anyways, I have took them everyday since and within the same hour time-frame. I've been on bc for about 2 1/2 weeks now. Haven't really noticed a change in much until today when I went to the bathroom and was shocked to see a hefty amount of dark-brown liquidy discharge. Not only was it in my panties but, and this is going to sound so unbelievably gross, was inbetween the lips of my vagina. I separated them and found a whole lot of it just chillen there. I've been having sex regularly and have not used any protection other than the birth control. From what I've read above, it appears I'm not the first to experience this yucky mess. Nor am I the first who wants some answers. Is this just something that's happening as my body adapts to the birth control or could this be something I should seriously be concerned about?? I'm a big-time worry wart so any advice is welcome!
I am a 17 year old female. On February 20th my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex for the first time. I am on birth control called implanon. ( it's in my upper left arm) he pulled out before he came I'm not completely sure if any cum got in my vagina. It's been about a month since that happened and I haven't had my period but my BC ocassionally makes me skip so I don't know if that's why or what. But today, march 24th, I woke up this morning and there was a think brown quarter size amount of discharge in my underwear. Could I be pregnant or have an infection? I knew for a fact that my boyfriend was a virgin before we had sex and I know that I am disease free, completely clean. Help?

I'm on month 2 of the BC shot. I love it. I've used the patch and the nuvaring in the past. Even at 26, I'm not responsible enough to take the pill at the same time everyday. I'm a leave it and forget it type of girl.
Anyway. I've spotted in the past, very very light red spotting, but this is different. Dark brown, pungent. And after a tinkle, it'll be red.
I don't wear panties at all, so I've been wearing long skirts, without any staining. The only beef I have is the cramping, because in the 13 years I've had my period, I've maybe cramped 5x. Yes. I'm lucky.
It's been about a week now. Which means a week without sex, which is completely unacceptable to me, because the whole reason I went on birth control was to not every having to worry about getting pregnant with my bfs child. I'm a very sexual creature, and this is a rather big annoyance.
