I just got home and checked my email. I have a notice of a reply to a post I'm watching so I click on that. When it opens, I log in and read it. Then I go to posts since last log in and it says there are none. What? I've been gone all day and no one has posted anything? I go to unanswered posts and there are about 40 posts there that I haven't seen, going back to early morning. I look to see what time it says my last visit was and it shows about 8 minutes ago. I haven't logged in and out and back in again but somehow the system thinks I did.
It appears that when I click on the email link it counts that as a log in, even though the screen shows me as not being logged in.

Hi njoynlife,

Hi dark-red. I thought I had the sequence pretty well defined this time.
Before, I was new to the site and wasn't exactly sure how it was happening. I've been logging in first, reading or at least opening the posts since last visit, then going back to the email to click on the link. That got around the problem.
Last night I was in such a hurry to get to my favorite site that I forgot to log in before clicking on the email link.
Now for a different problem.
When I preview my answer and find something I want to insert or change, It's very natural to just try to insert it right there as I would if I was working in a word processor. The fact that I have to scroll down to where I was writing to do editing isn't a problem but if I inadvertently try to edit in the preview pane, I lose the whole page. I get a screen that says the page is too old to be displayed and I can't get back to what I just wrote.
