Hi Ladies. I'm so relieved to see this. I thought I was going insane! I'd love your thoughts on this because i seem to be having a lot of the symptoms described but a few different? I had my first attack 1 year ago. my throat was terribly sore. had a fever, got better, and a week later had a terrible spinning sensation, I also felt like I weigh 500 lb. couldn't move for about a week. My arms and head were so heavy. It got better over time and it eventually disappeared completely. Until 4 months ago when i had a very sore throat again. a few days later I had a very bad attack that lasted 4 days, with a 5 hour peak in which i literally could not lift my head!! Ever since, I feel like my ears are clogged. It has gotten gradually better but never really went away. I have recently noticed it gets worse a day before i get my period. but in any case I can never stand up right anymore, and i feel like i'm falling when i close my eyes (I actually am moving, it's not just a sensation) I went to an ENT and he ran all the test but everything came back fine, which I find really strange. next step is neurologist i guess... It also gets worse on hot days when I'm out in the sun. I feel like I'm about to faint, I have a hard time breathing, and have to find a cool bottle of water, or anything frozen to feel better. I have been a bit irresponsible about taking the pill. have skipped a lot lately, taken at different times Decided to stop altogether, dreading the result as I'm sure it will be worse before (if) it get's better As for tips - I find that drinking a lot of water during the day helps. And I think Coffee and chocolate may be triggering it for me too, so cutting back on that seams to help. Just bought Ginko and ginger root and started taking today as some of you recommended. This is awful! I hope we all get better soon

Has anyone else tried estrogen cream or anything? When I go back to the dr I am going to have her test my hormones.

I often wondered if LBS had something to do with the dizzy spells. I'm 48 years of age, and I suffer with these dizzy spells too. I had no idea so many others were suffering too.

I've been feeling dizzy too, when I woke up yesterday I had almost fell over. My period was heavier than normal, that might be one reason but I doubt it a little. I think it's just something that happens sometimes, but the dizziness won't help if you have work or school.

I've heard from a friend that ginger works, but she recommended it in the form of hot tea! I'll try and find these at the wal-mart near me (chances are, they're there.) I've also heard that regularally taken Iron supplements help, but I'm going to try it!

Hello, I have the same dizziness after giving birth almost a year ago and after multiple doctors still have no answers. I was just wondering if it ever went away or if you found an answer for your dizziness? Thanks

Did getting back on birth control solve you issue with dizziness? I have a similar story - in that I stopped the pill and started developing vertigo around my cycle!

It's possibly low cortisol. You need extra cortisol to get through your period. If your stressed - think PMS on top of all the other chaos life throws at you daily - then your adrenals glands just pump out more cortisol. If the adrenals aren't able to do this adequately due to prolonged stress then you get dizzy, have low blood pressure etc. Look up low cortisol symptoms...

I am 37 years old and I have had dizziness that started right after a minor car accident 3 years ago. I went to several specialists, ear, heart testing, etc and they finally put me on xanax that would relieve my "vertigo" type symptoms. And now after being on that medication for over 3 years; I am getting dizzy before my cycles especially. I also feel completely depent on my xanax, which I hate, but I would much rather take that than to feel as if I am going to pass out suddenly. It is the most frustrating, scary experience. My doctor finally just diagnosed me with anxiety. I'm left feeling discouraged and now co-dependant on a medication just to feel "normal"..and also feel like my doctor is labeling me crazy because of it. I just really feel like there is an underlined issue here...

I know this post was over a year ago. but if you're still following, I have had the ear pressure, dizziness (like being on a boat), head pressure and very rarely headaches for about 3 months now. My ENT diagnosed me with vestibular migraines, but sent me back to my pcp to treat them. She won't treat them and referred me to a nuerologist who won't treat them until he rules out everything else that it could be. Very frustrating! I am going to another ENT to see if they will come up with a treatment plan.
