Do you burn the same number of calories during a run if you run one day and don't sweat anywhere near the amount you do another day, even though your pace and time running is the same? Just curious.
I think you're still burning the same amount of calories, although your heart rate might be elevated more with more sweating, usually due to the heat.

You may burn a few extra calories because your heart has to pump harder so you'll sweat more, but the bulk of calorie burning from running is involved in the muscles moving a fixed weight object from point A to point B (work = force x distance).

Considering you burn the samw amount of calories walking as you do running i'd say yes. sweating can be influenced by several conditions besides you alone.

What must not be confused here is that fluid loss, (sweat ) does not necessarily relate to the amount of calories lost.

Sweating does not equal exertion. I ran a Tri recently with this tiny little woman who's my friend. Well, I think I poured out about 2 liters (I am not kidding...) and well, her hair was still perfect. And she BEAT MY SWEATY MUG.

So... don't worry about it, just keep on goin'!
